Dublin - Tickets / Travel / Accommodation / Meeting points / Local knowledge

Those concerned about tix should just go to the Shelbourne fc website and buy them...I bought 3 on Friday, took 2 min's, okay in the home end but from what I can see half the ground's gonna be Palace.
I gave an address in Dublin (my cousins) when purchased just in case was any issues....but neh drama

I've got tickets in the home end. I thought Shelbourne were being smart, selling tickets as a 3 game package.
However, what I can see happening, is that Shelbourne's two other home games (against BK Hacken and Drita) will look like they are sold out, and plan accordingly. However, on match day, the stadium will likely be virtually empty, with home and away fans unable to get any tickets.(Because Palace bought 80% of them in the 3 match deal).
Not our problem, but Shelbourne's cunning plan has a bit of a defect. 😀

Didn’t even occur to me that the home end would be an option. Looks like 101 and 102 sold out. I guess beyond that much if the rest of the ground is the same as far as we aware?

i think 101 and 102 sold out because of their proximity to the Away Stand. I would guess it highly likely there will be Palace in other stands in significant numbers

Should the match be in the rovers stadium tallaght,
Nearest hotels are ..
The maldron, next door.
The glasshouse .5 mins walk
The plaza....5 mins walk
Green isle..5 mins taxi
Louis Fitzgerald....5 mins taxi
Ground is easy accessible from city centre...via luás line(suburban rail)
And numerous bus routes..
Feel free to message me ,if you need advice,,eagles have always helped me ,with travel advice,so happy to help out ...
Thanks for this. Went all in today and bought match ticket (Block104), flight, and booked a room at the glasshouse, car hire.

Any recommendations for pubs near the ground?

Maybe we could get the Garda (Irish Police) to tell Uefa that having the match against a top Premier League side in Tallagh would present an unacceptable security risk and it must be moved. The Aviva is then the only option. Let’s see if Uefa bite!

By the way, I attended the FAI Cup Final at the Aviva a few years ago. Despite coming from only a few miles away Shelbourne could only muster 5,000 supporters. The winners, Rovers (Sligo), brought over 20,000 from the North West Coast 130 miles away.

The dragon/molloys are the two main pubs in tallaght village, both have large screen TVs for racing and football, you will be fine in both of them....and there 10 mins walk from stadium.
The abberley is also a good bar...they all near each other!
Thanks for this, perfect to fill an afternoon and after the game. I am beyond excited.

So much so, and partly because I feel a little guilty being in their end, that I am going to try and follow their games starting this evening.

just tell them the Union Jack flags are partying with the irish Tricolours.........the cops will quickly want to break up the fun. They will helicopter in Sinn Fein's Mary Loo McDonald and Two Tier Keir to ruin the buzz for everybody.

I just bought 2 tickets in the Shels end as back up in case we can’t get tickets via CPFC especially now we’re doing so well I’m afraid too many Palace fans will want tickets. Shelbourne are selling a 3 game package deal for €55 about 47 pounds if anyone is interested. I suspect a lot of the tickets that are sold already are to non Shels fans as some neutrals will be there just to see a top Premier League team.

I think you’ll be fine with the Shels tickets, it should be a good Palace crowd, scattered throughout

"Previously deported from the UK"....what's he doing here?

its easy to find newspaper links for a load of violent bad-lads that hop back and forth between UK and Ireland. Travelling in both directions. Many speak with an English accent .

I thought that was common knowledge that some in the Travellers community claim benefits in both countries and hop between Eire and Wales?

i cannot comment on that. Nor can i comment upon rumours of all the ones in the UK driving on Irish reg-plates and all the ones in Ireland driving on UK plates ? And sometimes it could even hypothetically be the same fella who does the start of the week in one jurisdiction and the end of the week across in the other place ? Owning multiple vehicles. Cos that would only be conjecture ?

And separately i am Reminded of the song, by Jinx Lennon. Its about UK hot-hatch cars hopping South of the N.I. border for twenty minutes and basically using the Republic as a unofficial race-track. By the time the cops have arrived, the culprits have dashed back over to the North.

Anybody know how many away tickets were allocated for tonight against BK Hacken?

It seems there are a few tickets left in the home stands, assume there's be more demand for the Palace game.
