Dublin....Palace

Location
south pole
Country
Netherlands
Probably needs a thread of its own.
Especially given that :
a) we will be playing in Dublin
b) many Eagles live in Dublin & environs.

c) many Eagles in South London have connections to Ireland.
d) Dublin is a wonderful place to wear the Palace shirt & abuse Liverpool & Manchester plastic fans.

e) The memory of the likes of Damien Delaney & Clinton Morrison. Palace have contributed more players to the Republic of Ireland than ever did Shelbourne.

f) Shelbourne can feckoff

So apparently bohemian's play some of their European games in tallaght stadium and some cases the Aviva.

Tolka park is only about 5000 capacity and I think tallaght stadium is 11,000 with Aviva around 50k.

If our Irish supporters can bombard the Shels with emails demanding the Aviva we may get some action. After the great turnout in Norway after such short notice I can see a big invasion if we get the Aviva plus many sports mad Dubliners curious to see what a real football club looks like rather than the self important, money grabbing teams stuffed down their throats each week on the telly.

Sitting in the Stands at the Aviva, watching the Republic of Ireland.......its akin to visiting Guantanamo and being waterboarded. Except that the latter may be more memorable and less boring.

Croke Park is big. The GAA are fond of money. Capacity 82,000. You would be surprised how many neutrals would attend. Especially to see a Premier League team on Irish soil. I would guess at a fairly decent attendance.

Certainly all the neutral fans will support Shelbourne, with the English cast as the pantomime villain.

Croke Park is close to Bohemians homeland. The GAA are fond of money. Capacity 82,000. You would be surprised how many neutrals would attend. Especially to see a Premier League team on Irish soil. I would guess at a fairly decent attendance.

You honestly couldn't pay to sit and watch that.

It would bring a lot of revenue a match like that at Aviva not least the expensive pubs around Dublin would love it.

I’ve been to the Tallaght stadium a few times and it’s modern and easy to get to though if you drive on the M50 it can be a nightmare at peak times. I’ve parked across the road in the shopping centre and it’s ok as is the area. Plenty of good food inside the stadium including pizza which I’ve never seen in any other ground.
I’ve also been to the Aviva (and Croke Park) a number of times, I’ve driven and parked nearby, it is walkable from the city centre in around 20 minutes. The Sandymount area is much more upmarket and Ringsend is where Rovers started life and moved to Milltown where my family’s bond with the club was made.
Wherever we play I’m sure Dublin will be lit up, can’t wait even if I can’t get a ticket I’ll be nearby!

I'm booking a flight Monday...got cousins who live there....few.days on the black stuff then head home....now if any of those ' Emerald Eagle's ' can blag.a few tix I'd happily get the beers in...is it true Temple Bar these days at bit like Covent Garden, tourists n overpriced...

Yes it’s true about Temple Bar but there is a pub there called The Palace Bar, you’ll have to have one there?
