I see that Danny Imray has been loaned out to Blackpool.

Pity he didn't get a chance to impress OG in pre-season.
Also, I thought he could have had a chance to go on loan at Championship club.

League One is a step up for him, so see how he gets on.

Jolly good luck to the lad.
He has joined a team who I believe will have a creditable season.
When Steve Bruce took up the 'Reins' after 4 league games, Blackpool were 22nd.They finished in 9th place and I expect them to finish 'North' of this position in the forthcoming season.

Wonder if there is any option to buy included in the deal.

I think it's time to cash in on some of the more valuable products from that particular crop of academy players - to me all of Imray, Rak-Sakyi, Adaramola, Ola-Adebomi should be sold into the Football League at this stage, as we have with Sean Grehan, and previously Killian Phillips (all be it to Scotland).

Only Rak-Sakyi probably fetches a decent fee, but get some sell-on clauses built into the others and see how they do.

All of the four I've listed are the 'wrong' side of 20 now and hard to see them ever impacting our first team, but all would likely have suitors in the football league - I think we hang onto some of these kids a little too long at times and they actually end up losing value.

I'd keep hold of Imray as he might well have developed sufficiently to replace Munoz when the latter goes. Imray is impressive when he goes forward. Not sure of his defensive skills, though.

I saw a lot of him at Bromley last season and he was excellent, definitely in that Munoz mould of powerful runs going forward and a really enjoyable player to watch.
But this was league two against some pretty ordinary/average at best opposition, there’s no way he’s going to be featuring for our 1st team, we wouldn’t be sending him out on loan if we thought he was going to make it at premier league level

I don't believe we have concluded that he has no future at our club.
He has less than 40 games to his name in the EFL and he and our club could benefit from him gaining more experience by ploughing his furrow at League One level.

At the minute even Caleb Kporha, seems to be in front of Danny, maybe another really successful loan might change that. If not his value will have gone up if he performs well for Blackpool.

Kporha featured heavily in this summer's U19 tournament for England and looks like he has a decent future.

Not expecting him to become a regular but should get more minutes this season as Munoz will need an occasional rest and of course may get injured or suspended

Good call Willo. Might be a punt in a league Yankee 👍

Recalled, as per club website. No reason given. “Danny will resume training with the first team.”

As far as I know it was going well for him up north.

Can't imagine we have pulled him out of a promising loan for any reason other than to try him in the first team, which is exciting.

But I also hope it doesn't mean we won't sign proper cover for Munoz.

I reckon he’s in tomorrow, why not? I see him play for Bromley a few times and although excellent at that level, I couldn’t see him doing it for us at premier league level, but with our current poor run of form and injuries, let’s give him a go, I’m happy to be wrong, let’s face it, we’ve missed Munoz more than anyone

Agree with this - I'm very sceptical about whether he can make the step-up at this stage, but given the lack of alternatives it's got to be worth a try.

I think this is the most sensible thing we have done, strait in, cover when Muñoz is back, there is no point in buying a RWB if OG is not here, as he is the only manager i know that plays that way, chances are if we have a new manager, a Joel Ward style RB for a back 4 maybe needed.

We've looked imbalanced on the right with Munoz missing, so while Danny (apparently) needs to work on the defensive side of his game, he does add more attacking threat. The way Bright talked about him in the past I think he still has a chance to make it with the first team. He has a strong character, which is also something that Glasner seems to value. Another significant factor is that he has played a decent amount of football at a senior level, so while that was in the lower leagues, he should be more prepared to make the step up.

my son been speaking with friends who live in fleetwood who have seen him play , they rated him , so he maybe a good replacement already , lets face it did anyone expect Munoz to be as good as he is

Yes surely it's to be used in the first team. In my view having him play will automatically make us a little more balanced as we won't have to see Devenney cutting back onto his left.

I think it does also probably mean we won't be signing a back up for Munoz. Maybe his injury is progressing better than expected, who knows.

But whatever the facts are, I'm always happy to give youth a chance.

Why has Imray been recalled? Why is there suddenly an apparent issue with the signing of the Genk RWB?

Time for some conspiracy theorising:
  1. In their long-awaited discussions this week, Glasner has told Parish he's not going to sign a new contract
  2. Parish has said that in that case there's no point me wasting £20m on another RWB
  3. So Parish orders a recall for Imray as a stop-gap till the end of the season
  4. The new manager will play a more orthodox system with a back 4.
  5. Search now changes direction for a new RB for next season
  6. Parish starts letting it be known that Munoz can be bought in the Summer at the right price.
