It probably won't happen, but hopefully Sage is more flexible than OG is and targets those wide areas. JSL is great in the air, and last season some our biggest problems came when teams used the width to throw balls into the box (like when Leeds thumped us).

I'm hoping too, because we have exciting wingers and our wingbacks are not naturally attacking. Maybe Khalaili is but he doesn't look like doing it consistently for 90 mins any time soon, at this level. To be harsh about it.

I was gutted he left, but whereas Khalaili has room to grow and develop, you feel Munoz has hit his ceiling. Hopefully he has another stinker against us.

I do get why we sold him, like you say, I think we’ve had his best years and Khalaili has had a promising start. I think we see signs of how average Munoz can look coming back from injury or international duty when he looks jaded, when he hasn’t got that energy which is a massive part of his game he’s not the same player.
I think if he’d gone abroad I’d be fine, but seeing him still in the premier league it bothers me, especially that lot after all what’s gone down. The only team he could’ve joined that would’ve been worse for me was Chelsea

Selling him in isolation looks fine for the reasons you say. However when taken in the context of him being one of the only remaining leaders and points of defensive continuity in the squad I think it was a poor decision.

Bournemouth got away with selling four of their back line, but selling guehi LaCroix and Munoz in a short space of time has had a massive impact on us, you can drive an artic lorry through some of our gaps, even Middlesbrough and Poznan would’ve had a field day if they’d had a bit more quality up front

But we’re on a re-build now, it’s just a shame we’re having to do it while the seasons going on and we didn’t have a good long pre season

The gaps are the actual tactics. That's where my worry with that is. The gaps are the system.

Sorry, but Munoz's defensive qualities were limited even when he was at his peak with us. WE did well to get the money we did for him. I don't think he'd have done any better than Khalaili has, had he stayed.

I agree with this. Not only have we had his best years but Forest have massively overpaid for him. They have their reasons I get that but we did very well out of Daniel Munoz in both service to the club and transfer fee.
He is no way the player he was before his injury and hand on heart I can honestly say (when looking at his age and potential as well as the start he has had) I much prefer Kalaili. Would not want Daniel back now if he was offered, love the guy as I do

His game is high energy up and down that line, 100% commitment for club and country, maybe he’s burnt out and will never be that great player we had again. We could see how jaded he could look sometimes, especially coming back from long flights on international duty and the start of that season when Colombia went all the way in the copa America in the summer
It’s looking like an excellent decision by the club to cash in, much as it pains me to say it because I loved the bloke

The massive impact is the change in tactics vs the individuals.

See Leeds game as example of how when reverting to a low block, defence suddenly looks fixed....

But also a game where we didn't score.

Columbia also have 3 games. Last being on the 7th October, so hopefully he's a bit fatigued.

The one at our place said about a back 4, I said he has no chance, it'll be the same side with the same tactics, and late subs. Item 1 is what matters by far. He said he'd noticed the lack of sub use.

I'm quietly confident that Sage is a superior manager and our overall squad has improved in quality significantly.
