Daniel Munoz

Sorry to see you go Daniel. You wore the shirt with pride. You worked your arse off and in my humble opinion are the best we’ve had as a right wing back. Thank you for some spectacular memories. You’re a star and whilst Forest feels odd coz you are better than that, you have one, short career and if their money sets you up for life then fair enough. You’ll be missed.

Players don't stay forever, I guess Munoz doesn't suit the way Sage wants to play. Basically Munoz is a poor defender, but a good attacking wing back. So getting a decent fee to cover a 21 year olds fee is good business.
 
As another poster said I would laugh my socks off if we pulled out of this deal at the last moment leaving Forest stranded.

Sadly I think he is gone and we will miss his goals and assists.
 
I saw someone say this is a record price for a 30 year old back .

Myself , along with many others don’t think he’s been the same for palace since his injury and it was a pretty weak effort giving the ball away to cost us the goal against Everton .

We’re swapping a 30 year old for a 22 year old who in his first outing seemed pretty handy. All he needed was to adjust his radar and place the ball a bit further back , but the placement was consistent , and not scattered ..

In three years time , it will be interesting to see their relative value .

OG knows he needs results asap or he’s going to be out of a job soon so if they’re happy to pay overs for someone who’s played his best football for us , is past his prime I’m happy to say , “ where do we sign “ !!

He’s going to put a massive effort in to try and put in a blinder against us , but I’m happy to put my money ( well , if I bet , but I don’t ..) on TM owning him by the end of the game ….

Seems like a canny SP move to me .

Anan had a decent performance against Man City. Broke the record for successful tackles on a debut. He also got outpaced on a few occasions.

It was fine for an introduction but I haven't seen anything to suggest he is another Dani yet. We were better on the left side, Ty had a world-class game.

If Anan is to fill a Muñoz shaped hole he will need to find some more speed, and up his attacking contribution too.

This is all assuming we don't still hold onto Dani, which isn't a given.

I'm sure Steve Parish could have taken similar action against Simon Jordan on a few occasions over the years, on what has been said on TalkSport.

I'm pretty sure Steve could even take counter-action against Marinakis over suggestions that he had made any moves of impropriety surrounding the Lyon affair.

He did neither of these things, because he's not a puss-filled boil. Unlike both those other names I have mentioned... and if either of them wants to take me to court for that so be it 👀

I think if you stuck him in a good team, who had 60% of the ball and were playing against low blocks with no space in behind, he's got nothing.

Crossing has been one of his great strengths during his time in Selhurst.

We know that OG doesnt care about the long term, so will have not issues in signing a 30yo with no resell. Thats the next managers problem.

Good bit of business considering his age. If we did not need to worry about finances we would keep every player until their contract ended. Sadly once they near 30 we have to sell them otherwise there is little resale value. Glasner is a mercenary manager like most players now, only worried about what he can get. Its less of a sport now and more a business which is sad.
 
One of my big concerns with losing Munoz is that he is one of a handful of players in the squad who looks like they are up for a fight. I remember Delaney made up for some of his shortcomings by his ferocious desire to win every ball. When you're a smaller PL team you need those characters. Newcastle have built their success on a physical, almost intimidating, approach to the game. My worry is we're becoming a bit soft with the losses of Lacroix and Munoz. I'm hoping in these final days of the window we sign a proper box-to-box tank for the middle of the pitch. Someone who comes in and instantly gives the aura of someone not to be f*cked with, like Guimaraes when he joined Toon. Then watch them smash the sh!t out of Forest in a couple of weeks!

I'm with you on Lacroix on this point.....however Munoz was distinctly average last season.
At 30, with one month left and not re-signing, every month he loses value.

It's a good deal.

Lacroix is a different kettle of fish and I think 52 with three years left, was under-priced.

However, if a player wants to go and you need money for transfers, it is what it is.

That's the gamble a club takes with a new manager demanding new signings.
