Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham match thread

Having a tall player in the six-yard box guarding the near post at corners is a common tactic and was known as the 'Drogba position'.
what that position has been going long before drogba could walk , strange its only the big name players invent things that ever happened in football , thought better of you Willo , go stand in a darken corner and reflect on your status in this room 🤣🤣

Coaches have referred to the "Drogba position". Benteke used to be deployed at the near post when defending corners but I have never heard it referred to as the "Benteke position" !

I shall now be upright in a darkened corner and reflect that far from being a stately ornament I am a pointless human bollard and an intellectual vacuum to boot 😛

There is nothing wrong with a big player guarding the near 6 yard box but JP has recently been on the post, a completely different position. Whilst he probably couldn't stop either goal his slow reactions to both the Arse and Spurs goals weren't great and neither was Hendo's as he just stands there and never comes off his line.

Essentially what i'm saying is that the current approach is not working.

If you think it is working feel free to explain.

I accept that we have looked vulnerable at set-pieces and Glasner and his coaches will have instigated an analysis into the issues.
Against Tottenham their goal was a result of 3 headers in our box which is unacceptable. I did observe that both Henderson and Mateta were statuesque when Gray nodded home.
