It is a tad disappointing that we have played 2 games at Home in the PL this season and failed to win either.
We only narrow defeated Fredrikstad who are considered minnows when compared with the elite teams.
I've no idea on the legitimacy of the penalty but it's not that hard a call with Liverpool etc when they need a goal to win.
i know Glasner won't change but a 433 against a defensive team is surely a better formation. Having the spare CB coming forward is too easy to defend against. A proper No 10 would hopefully get between the lines. My sentiments exactly. He has no idea how to break down a low block. The Fredrikstad game was a taster of what will happen in Europe where we will 100% get crushed if we play a transitional team with a little bit of quality
We’re not going to change 3 at the back. That defence is what gives us a solid foundation. Teams who use a low block to park the bus are difficult to break down. Look at Liverpool yesterday. They play a back four and have some of the best midfielders and strikers in the world. But for one moment of madness by a defender that game would have ended 0-0.i know Glasner won't change but a 433 against a defensive team is surely a better formation. Away from home the current formation is great, it just doesn't work at home against a low block.
No argument from me Teddy, you're right. Tho, if you see games, the 'yardage' gained by players taking throw-ins is being looked at by the ref & is blowing up for it(most of the time). Like all starts to the new season, various laws are revisited & acted upon, then quietly dropped. Anyone seen a 'keeper penalised for taking too long to release the ball? Why is that though Eagleman? A long throw can be a pretty potent weapon and five yards up the line can make a big difference. Of course a yard doesn't usually make much difference but we've all seen players being allowed to creep further and further up the pitch until the throw is taken a long way from where the ball went out
My view is that players are hardwired into trying to gain every possible advantage so will always try to nick some distance if they can.

I do think there’s scope to play with one holding midfielder in those situations and also to go with a false nine or 3 number 10s when your number 9 is being man marked and unable to find space.
Why not put down a mark of the disappearing spray to show where the throw should be taken. Overstep it and it's a foul throw. No argument from me Teddy, you're right. They did stick out a leg a couple of times in the penalty area. Then the quickest checks ever couldn't see what everyone else could. I'm not saying they were stonewall penalties but they would have been given against us, or for Liverpool/ Man U/ Man City/ Arsenal/ Chelsea. It's become that simple and predictable that everyone knows it. Managers can't even be bothered to complain. It was just one of those games where we needed to to get into the box more and let the opposition stick out a leg and win a penalty or that little magic we used to have with Eze, Olise or Zaha 😞
Takes too long. sometimes the ref can be on the other side of the pitch. 95% of the time the ref will blow for a throw & is usually standing in line from where it went out & indicates with an extended arm to point to the place the throw has to be taken. The fact that players ignore it . . .Why not put down a mark of the disappearing spray to show where the throw should be taken. Overstep it and it's a foul throw.
Guess so but if the ref and both linesm... referee's assistants had a spray. There are bigger problems in the game but it's something which just winds me up.Takes too long. sometimes the ref can be on the other side of the pitch. 95% of the time the ref will blow for a throw & is usually standing in line from where it went out & indicates with an extended arm to point to the place the throw has to be taken.
