We are not getting rid of Glasner, he decided to go himself at the end of his contract. Long story short he was not backed when he needed to be after we won the FA cup and decided to move on. It’s hard because our Chairman runs things like a tight ship, so we are financially sound and you have to admire the courage to stick to your principles of how you run the club even if it means letting a manager walk away who has won 3 trophies in his 2 years.
I guess it comes down to in the Chairman we trust.
I obviously don't know enough about your club and your finances to comment, but the fact that you've done this while being financially sound is amazing. It's just AFC likes letting managers build dynasties. In the last 40 years, we had Rioch for 12 months, Emery for 18, and Graham, Wenger and Arteta for the rest. While Sperz and the Chavs have had 6 between them this season. It's gutting that Glasner couldn't become a Clough, Fergie or Wenger and stay there forever with a statue of him.
But 3 trophies in 13 months and into the EL as you should have been. But you'll have extra seeding coefficients next year.
You must be so proud. When you lost the Cup final in 1990 some of you would have thought that was it. That was the one chance of my life. You wouldn't have believed what you went on to do since last May.
Europe League next season as it should have been this time. Now win that next year and if, Ganpati willing, we qualify for the CL again, we can both meet in that the year after.
Btw, has it actually sunk in yet? The Palace have just won a European trophy. After we won our first, the Inter-City Fairs Cup, we won the double the next year. So you're on for your best ever season.
All the best. And remember. You've just won a European title. Palace. Have. European. Silverware. You, Palace, have done it.
