Crystal Palace vs. Rayo Vallecano match thread

Harsh on some players if they don't get medals yet likes of Doucoure get one who have contributed 0.

Surprise surprise who appears again when its good times but had disappeared for a long time yes SP you now whats update on the stadium.
F*ck me, man, take a day off

Having supported this club for nigh on half a century I am getting mightily cheesed off with this whole 'winning things,' business.

What was wrong with being the plucky nearly men of London football?

You wait years fora bloody trophy and three come along in a bit over a year.

It's just not the Palace way......
It's virgin territory for all of us. The last twelve months have been nothing short of surreal.

I'd like to acknowledge Parish. It would've been the easiest thing in the world to sack Glasner when he threw his toys out the pram but he stayed calm, let the storm subside, and stuff what he felt was best for palace. Now look.
Yep agreed. Look at the clowns who run West Ham Tottenham, we are lucky to have him.

Fabulous night. Well done every single one of you. Never thought I'd see this.

Just hope the media make a real fuss of us tomorrow - after all they were in raptures about Villa and they'd won in Europe before. This was our first guys, and we bossed it

We are not getting rid of Glasner, he decided to go himself at the end of his contract. Long story short he was not backed when he needed to be after we won the FA cup and decided to move on. It’s hard because our Chairman runs things like a tight ship, so we are financially sound and you have to admire the courage to stick to your principles of how you run the club even if it means letting a manager walk away who has won 3 trophies in his 2 years.

I guess it comes down to in the Chairman we trust.

I obviously don't know enough about your club and your finances to comment, but the fact that you've done this while being financially sound is amazing. It's just AFC likes letting managers build dynasties. In the last 40 years, we had Rioch for 12 months, Emery for 18, and Graham, Wenger and Arteta for the rest. While Sperz and the Chavs have had 6 between them this season. It's gutting that Glasner couldn't become a Clough, Fergie or Wenger and stay there forever with a statue of him.

But 3 trophies in 13 months and into the EL as you should have been. But you'll have extra seeding coefficients next year.

You must be so proud. When you lost the Cup final in 1990 some of you would have thought that was it. That was the one chance of my life. You wouldn't have believed what you went on to do since last May.

Europe League next season as it should have been this time. Now win that next year and if, Ganpati willing, we qualify for the CL again, we can both meet in that the year after.

Btw, has it actually sunk in yet? The Palace have just won a European trophy. After we won our first, the Inter-City Fairs Cup, we won the double the next year. So you're on for your best ever season.

All the best. And remember. You've just won a European title. Palace. Have. European. Silverware. You, Palace, have done it.

Just in from watching it in the pub having made a few Palace converts. For some reason I was quite confident going into this but it feels so fvcking good to win it. So proud of the lads. Well done everyone. Three trophies in a year? Dream time in SE 25 and who cares about all the years of grief?

Mate, take the rest of the week off I'm sure you could do with a rest from your drivel.

You beat the financially-doped Mancs for the Cup. The Scouse champions in the Charity Shield and have now won a European trophy.

We were amazed when we won the cup and Charity Shield in 2020. But we'd come 5th the season before.

What you have done without a level financial playing field is amazing.

Bet it really hasn't sunk in yet.
