Crystal Palace vs. Nottingham Forest match thread

Happy to get the 3 points but apart from the Leeds game we could easily of conceded 4,5 or even 6 goals in every game the defensive unit needs drastic work before we play the weeds!

Great morale boosting win. They could have been out of sight by HT. Defence definitely needs more work, but if we're having to play Lerma there we are clearly down to the bare bones. Benitez MoTM ?

Glasner and you vile bunch of Red c**** plus of course the bearded fat fuckin felching ignoramus from those beautiful Greek Islands you deserved every f***ing last bit of that defeat today.
What made it so so much better was the fact we were shite from start to finish and you c**** still got royally turned over.
f*** off and never darken South Norwood again.

I've nothing against their fans. But the club can f*** off with the twats in charge.

That was one of the most one sided first halves of football I have seen. We should have been at least 3-0 down after 30 mins.

To go in 2-1 up was absolutely hilarious. To win 3-1? I nearly wet myself

We still have many, many issues to sort out and tactically we are a mess. However a win is a win especially against that 70s tv detective duo of “turncoat and the fat man”

Actually I don't think it was. For 10 minutes they didn't have a sniff and we forced a corner and two saves. Their attack for the goal was a stupid error. After that we had half clearances and a mess in the box, but when we did break we looked dangerous but made errors in it too soon - for example Pino in a 3 v 2 where he ran into the 2. After the break we held our shape better and broke better, our attack was more balanced and fluid than theirs, we have better quality spread out and deeper.

If this game was down to xG it was 2.38 to 2.97, and .46 of theirs came from that opening goal. Lots of their efforts were extremely low xG, they weren't expected to score. Only the Delap one was a massive miss at 0.53 in the first half, Woods in the second half. We also had a couple of big chances missed too.

Well, Palace got over the line following the most surprising result given all the chances that Forest had in the 1st half and how they absolutely battered The Eagles then. Delap proving to be Forest's answer to Brendan Johnson. Profligate in passing though with better teams easily converting missed chances. Delighted though for Pierre with first Prem. home win and achieving what Glasner was not able to do i.e. a win against Forest.

Both Pierre and the squad will have much to analyse regarding that performance though.

What to make of that.

Against Fulham and today we could have conceded hatloads and yet we have won both games.

We still pushed the full backs forward at 3-1 today and Timber was still breaking forward into the final third.
No closing out of games.

I think we'll have to get used of this under Sage, even if we do get a settled defence.
That's how Sage plays with players committed to going forward.

Roy would have nightmares, latter day Pardew would have loved it.
I remain nervous as a fan who thinks the first priority should be to try for a clean sheet as a platform to get a result.
