This bomb-squading trend seems a bit counter-productive. It has hardly proved effective for Man United or Chelsea. Not a Hodgson fan, but he would probably have handled it betterUnused sub for the U21s last Friday

He’s just got over his recent short spell of fitness. How can Franca be injured again?
It's a bit ironic that he's trotted out his "It's the fans job to get behind the team" speech again whilst simultaneously bemoaning his lot. If he was paying to watch the team he supports he might not be overly gruntled himself. Still, onwards and upwards. As of today we're missing Eze on a permanent basis from the team who had the most successful in the club's history so nil desperandum. He’s clearly been a fantastic manager and it is disappointing the board haven’t been able to back him… but I agree.
His job is to motivate the players and the interviews he has given since Eze said he couldn’t play on Thursday haven’t exactly been motivational.
It’s also his job to get the best out of Esse, not saying it is solely his fault but he has been managing him for eight months and we needed him on Thursday.
Devenny starts again after that piss poor performance. OG is so stubborn
I thought Glasner was perfectly clear in his last interview. “Esse is not yet ready for the first team”. The reason we have been successful is because Glasner plays to a system and if the players stick to it then it generally works. He clearly thinks Esse struggles with this system. He’s clearly been a fantastic manager and it is disappointing the board haven’t been able to back him… but I agree.

Same as the way he persisted with Kamada. Either stubbornness or the courage of his convictions.Roy was the same.
I would have preferred to have Mitchel and Sosa both play but that is big gamble if either got injured.
I feel sorry for Devenny he keeps getting put all over the place and is not getting the chance to lock down a role or improve.
Don't understand why Esse can't start on left and if he does poor change him.
The way OG is being whats the odds we sign a few players and he doesn't like them ends up not using them.
That's what worries me, the club have made a habit to find young english talent in the championship and develop them into first teamers and for us to sign esse for 14 million (a pretty sizeable fee for us) and the gaffer just flat out refusing to play him feels like a kick in the teeth. Glasner needs to realise that we arent chelsea and cant just sign players then not use them, then sell them for a decent priceRoy was the same.

Yes but take a step outside and you're in Liverpool. You have to laugh. Look at Everton’s new stadium and look at ours 🤣🤣🤣
He was and I know what you mean but if your job is to manage people and they don’t do their job it may be their fault but it has not been a great success for you either.I thought Glasner was perfectly clear in his last interview. “Esse is not yet ready for the first team”. To be fair, stabby Croydon isn't really ideal eitherYes but take a step outside and you're in Liverpool.
That might be the greatest ‘fair point’ ever made. f*** that.Yes but take a step outside and you're in Liverpool.
No but get on a bus and you'll be somewhere nicer. Do that from Everton and you'll still be in Liverpool. To be fair, stabby Croydon isn't really ideal either
But one of the challenges with signing young talent is that sometimes they won’t work out, or at least not at the pace you might hope for. We hit the jackpot with Wharton, Eze and Olise but it won’t happen in every case. When we signed Esse the consensus was he had lots of potential but was one for the future. That looks like how it is playing out. If he isn’t showing the manager enough yet then he shouldn’t be starting. It’s not like in his appearances so far he’s set the world on fire and forced his way in to the starting eleven. I think his is a case of a player’s reputation growing by not playing rather than what he’s shown on the pitch. That's what worries me, the club have made a habit to find young english talent in the championship and develop them into first teamers and for us to sign esse for 14 million (a pretty sizeable fee for us) and the gaffer just flat out refusing to play him feels like a kick in the teeth. Maybe it’s no one’s fault and he either doesn’t listen to instructions or simply isn’t good enough. I’m sure if Glasner was asked that question he’d give you an honest answer. He was and I know what you mean but if your job is to manage people and they don’t do their job it may be their fault but it has not been a great success for you either.
