Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool match thread

Sage definitely is gone after this… the players need take massive responsibilities also, as much as the coach is to blame they was also.
30 mill Nketiah
45 JSL
35 Johnson
Whoever made them decisions has killed us massively.
Need new change and identity.
Also need to go to a back 4, back to the basics formation and we need clean sheets.
Just shows last season how a Glasner got the maximum out of each player and when he was called stubborn for playing the same players and back 5 it was warranted.
Osario needs to be unleashed

Think we have the players just don't have a capable manager. I'm not impressed by the bin dippers, if we had taken our chances as they did we would have taken the points

Probably one of our best performances, but in true Sage way, all over the place from set pieces and counters. High fullbacks at fault for 2nd and 3rd goals which causes the CBs to be dragged all over the place. And for all of the nice approach play we look lately toothless.

The arguement that our openness in defence is for the benefit of our attack... We've not scored in half of our games and almost didn't today.

Were we unlucky today, fairly, thought MacAlister could easily have seen red for the challenge on Wharton and not seen a conclusive angle that shows Kamada had the last touch before JSL put it in. But that's our biggest problem, teams don't have to play well to beat us. We'll always gift big opportunities.

Rather than making a change after the Brighton game, we've waited 3 more League games, further damaged our GD and are now bottom of the league. Hardly an enticing position for a new manager.

All in all, it's proper sh*t at the moment.
Absolutely fantastic for a new manager

Finish 16th and he'll have hero status

First half we were the better side and didn't really deserve to be behind .
Second half when we started chasing the game we were picked off by £100 million buys against our free transfers and loans .
So though we hope and cling to what might have been its no big surprise that these money teams are a hard nut to crack .Of course we can do it on occasion but the reality is not very often .

All in all though a much improved performance that just needed a goal in the first half and it may have been one of those days .

We are just 9 points off a champions league spot .
COYP!

The scoreline was harsh and the stats suggest a far more even game .
There’s only one stat that matters .
As someone has already pointed out, if we get someone in to tighten up the defence we have enough creativity in attack to get us out of this hole .

It's such a come down off the high of the last two seasons.

I think that’s what hurts the most!

Tears of joy at winning the F A Cup, to playing European football.

I wonder sometimes if we would had been better off not playing in Europe! The team does not get to go through tactics as they play every few days!

Anyway, I’m probably clutching at straws … it’s awful at the moment

I sound like a broken record but most of this is on Parish.

Lack of investment on our progress - inept recruitment in defence.

So Steve you took us here, destroyed all the progression now how are you going to get us out of this..??

It's all on the head of Parish, he now needs to step up and do what's right for the club. He has played a key role in this demise.
Poor recruitment, new stand being delayed, upsetting the fan base, these are all important factors in why the team is not delivering on the pitch.
The tourists will not want to know us when we are in the Championship.
Sage needs to go, but our illustrious Chairman has played a significant role in his demise.

Replacing Sage is not going to change anything, the game plan looked good today, luck deserted them but the major issues are that we can't score or defend and the table reflects that. These problems have been our nemesis for sometime now and not just under Sage. The next window is not going to save us so we may as well accept that this wonderful run in the EPL will end this season. OG knew that and I suspect walked for that reason.

We didnt deserve to lose like that cant blame sage for today . But get the call to go

Completely agree. Can't believe some argue the opposite during the game but then like your post. Weird.

At least the HFs will be happy 🤣

Beaky had done some fantastic things for the club but he has undoubtedly played his part in the situation we find ourselves in.
1. We need a new manager
2. We need funds to bolster the squad in January
3. We need the ultras back to improve our atmosphere
Just my opinion

We looked decent first half and should have been ahead at halftime. Lost our shape second half and picked off by Liverpool counter attacks. Apparently Clinton questioned why we go 2 down and take off an attacker for an attacker. Even the guy on Sky asked why we didn’t go to a back four and bring Nketiah on with JSL.
The depressing thing is watching Sage on the touchline showing zero emotion and making no attempt to coach in game. I don’t think he’s a terrible coach but he’s not a great manager and has no luck whatsoever. Our next manager has to have experience in the PL. I’m not a fan of Dyche or Howe so I guess that leaves Frank although that clown Hobbs might fancy Nuno.
