Hmm, can anyone who watches the youngsters play shed any idea how these guys gel together? It’s ok starting a different team but are they used to playing together? If it goes wrong and they then lock up shop at the back, our first team replacements may struggle to chase the game.

Anything but a win leaves us yet more games to play which we can well do without.

Any win will be good and a couple or three goals- to nil - will be really good Will be nice if the starting 11 could do enough so that mass changes were not needed in the second 45.

I'm surprised just how youthful the team is. I thought possibly one of the usual back 3 would start and possibly Hughes to provide a bit more experience. But I completely understand it and happy for the youth to get a chance. I think it's a big ask for a very young defensive unit and when the u21s come up against full senior sides in their cup competitions it's usually a big challenge for them. However it's worth the risk and who knows we might uncover a gem. Really hope Esse and Uche continue where they left off against Shelbourne.
