Crystal Palace vs. Hoffenheim match thread

About time poor old Sage got a break. Henderson should save their goal. Kamada should hit the target in the first half. Pino should score when 1v1. That's never a second yellow for Wharton, and definitely one for their handball. Before that equaliser Sage could genuinely point to his bad luck. Same was true with the Mateta red on Saturday.

Thing is, Sage is past the point where it's unfair to sack him after a game where he's had bad luck. He needed good performances and wins just to keep the wolves from his door. Instead it has still been a chaotic, unconvincing performance, dug out at the death.

Will that be enough?

No

Can we honestly blame everything on Sage after what he inherited at the start of the season and arguably since then? These players are all meant to be professional yet the lack of self-discipline from several coupled with sub-standard forwards and poor replacements for such pivotal players as Lacroix and Guehi. Remember that this isn't Sage's squad but what he was given. Palace don't have a chance of beating Liverpool FC therefore it will be more than likely resulting in a farewell to Sage. Club is in freefall form at present. The toughest of tough gigs for any incoming Manager.
No we can't. There are many posts on here attempting to pinpoint what has gone wrong and where the responsibility lay. The discussion tends to go back and forth between Parish, Hobbs, Glasner, and Sage. And the departure of Freedman. His loss is proving bigger than most realised. But ultimately Sage is the manager, he's the one who sets the players up and trains them to do what he wants them to do. It doesn't work and it's not going to work. There's a serious lack of discipline and quite obviously he has to go.
