Crystal Palace vs Chelsea match thread

Well we had our chances. Two easy ones in JPM and Sarr. Couldn’t take either of them and then gifted them a goal. Lots of energy but our attacking play is awful. So many decent positions and so little quality. I can’t see us scoring, let alone winning.

Johnson invisible, Wharton pretty awful.
 
It's the same thing every single game...

The other team in front of goal = clinical

Palace in front of goal = woeful

If there is genuinely another team out there stupid enough to offer us £30m for Mateta we should be biting their hand off.

Grossly unfair.

His first games the entire side was dire. This is the first game with a full team, he's playing another position and it's against the form side in the league, and you're writing him off on 45 minutes. Why? Because we're losing? Had JP scored and Neto been sent off would you still be laying the boot in?

Benteke was better than johnson
 
It’s amazing how we look so much more like ourselves with Sarr & Munoz back in the team.

However, we will not trouble many teams in front of goal when our confidence is this low. Hoping for a more clinical 2nd half!

Our passing is in the main just woeful.

What is the point of Johnson??
 
Chelsea fortunate to have 11 on the pitch.

Doesn’t excuse how rubbish we are in front of goal. It’s embarrassing how bad Mateta has been this season.

To be fair while I said he was invisible he did actually make some good runs in but on at least three occasions Wharton overhit the pass to him by 15 yards and he had no chance of getting to it. A couple of better passes and he’d have been in

The pass by Canvot was bad ,but having no cover at the back was bad as well .

It happened again ,luckily Estabao missed .

Var asleep .

Bad Mateta miss .

Apart from that it’s a decent performance so far .

Don’t deserve to be behind .
