If Oliver Glasner is totally responsible for transfers he MUST coach and play some of the recent purchases and give up on the one who proves over and over again that he cannot play in the premier league. I can't remember a game he hasn't played. He can't pass, he can't shoot, he can't tackle, he wanders around aimlessly when we don't have the ball and he dribbles into his own box and gives the ball away. What is their to love?

I would think if you've been a Palace fan long enough - it's not a massive stretch of the imagination. And may somewhat explain our restructure at the top. Parish doing everything on his own.
Coming back to Dougie going - it's a balance of now and in the future. The issue is, Glasner wants now. The club needs a balance of both.
For instance, sign Uche for twenty million. Play him, make him more valuable. But Glasner won't - although it could change.
As a friend of mine pointed out. Glasner is all well and good but when he goes at the end of the season then the club still exists.

He does have Sharon Lacey, appointed CEO in September.

Pep is similar.
At Barcelona he fell out with Thierry Henry who would not follow instructions to 'play with chalk on his boots' i.e stay pinned to the left touchline to create space for Messi.
At City he would only select Grealish if he played a more limited role on the left hand side where he was asked to draw defenders and play simple passes.
It's about the individual sacrificing themselves for the team and meaning they have to accept not playing on occasions when tactics demand.

I think Glasner is in a similar mould.
If he praises an individual it's usually in the context of a team performance i.e the collective effort.
If JRS, Esse and possibly Uche cannot for whatever reason fit what's required they are not selected.

It's nothing new.
I recall similar debates around England with the likes of Currie, Hudson, Osgood, Le Tissier and Hoddle and why mavericks such as these weren't being selected even if the fans loved their skills.

The Kamada stuff is mad to me - he's been one of our best players for over 6 months now, huge performances in the cup run, has just won back to back POTM awards... one quiet performance playing in a position he's never really looked comfortable in, and we're talking about him being 'awful' and not warranting his spot!?

I view him as one of our most important players.

It does feel as though some just want him to fail so they can be proved 'right' in calling him s***.

I certainly don't think Kamada is a bad player, and he is certainly contributing more than in his early days at Palace.

However, I have a couple of concerns about him. Firstly, he is not a particularly strong when in possession and can be knocked off the ball a bit too easily. Secondly, and related to my first point, in almost every game, when he drops back to help in defence, he loses the ball in a dangerous position when trying to play his way out of a tight position.

And, like the rest of our midfield, he is not scoring goals.

I suppose that whilst it was disappointing not attain to all the points at home, the positives can be found in keeping a 'Clean sheet' and not losing to our bitter rivals.
I have to admit to resorting to profanity when the penalty was awarded !

What really bugs me is Kamada is on a huge salary, earning twice what Guehi is paid but half the player. Those salaries should be the other way round based on ability, then just maybe Guehi may have been inclined to stay.

Why does that bug you? He came in on a free and as such is always going to be a high earner.

Also it has been Marc's choice to not sign an extension or he likely would have been our highest earner.

The Palace extended highlights were a disgrace leaving out many of the “highlights” but concentrating on the VAR decision and Brighton’s wonderful play. The BBC not much better and SKY showing clips that were so short you got no context. If you watch the rerun drink plenty of strong black coffee!

I was at the match, close to the Whitehorse goal. All I've seen since is the utterly pathetic contribution from MOTD, which even by their normal disgraceful standards was downright insulting. Having, like many others, given up on watching the programme, I nevertheless stayed up, solely to see Henderson's fantastic save right at the start of the second half. In real time, to use the cliche, it had taken my breath away, but was evidently of no interest to MODM's editors. But even apart from that glaring omission the whole 2 minutes (or whatever it was) were, to use the word again, an insult to 2 good teams that gave everything, and to their supporters.

I think other teams are now used to our attacking shape (flat 5 stretched across the pitch) and can nullify. We need to do stuff like, I dunno... Munoz to do some underlapping runs... when we have possession and are slowly building up from the back, get Yeremy to push across to the right hand side and create an overload... tell one midfielder to take up positions in the box more...

It's just smallish changes, but I think something like that...

There were a number of players surrounding Rutter when he went to ground, there was a tangle of legs accordingly I can understand why the penalty was awarded.

Referee Tim Robinson hails from West Sussex.Our paths crossed some time ago when we were in the same Public House. I know some former local non-league referees (Now retired) from Sussex who were officiating in the middle and had a young Tim Robinson as one of their linesmen. He has certainly climbed the ladder !

I just think there are a load of people:

• Still not really understanding the ball playing ability and what that adds to the team
• And remembering every single mistake, way more than with any other player on the pitch

I think we really miss him when he's not playing centre mid. Lerma whilst playing better of late, is still a pretty poor passer. So many of his passes are pinged at knee height, or behind a player.

He was played out of position last night to do a job for the team, he's not really got the pace to play that position, but still did ok. The shot he fired into the side netting would have been a bloody good goal.

I would suspect most people, while wanting the referee to let the game flow, would think he was somewhat overly lenient.
