Crystal Palace vs. AZ Alkmaar match thread

There is no particular corner he generally chooses, but he tends to drill the ball low rather than thwack the ball towards the top corners of the net.

My previous post I asked grok and it shows out of the last 6 pens he went bottom right 4 times. (Before last night)

I don't know about anyone else, but i was on tenderhooks most of the game, i know i shouldn't have worried, still. The 'Standard' is reporting that Sarr has been nursing a 'small' issue with one of his hamstrings & he got taken off earlier than planned to protect him, good call, will need him fit & firing on Sunday. Also, they reported that the reason why Riad wasn't in the squad as originally planned is during training y/day he slipped & hurt his knee, so not included.
Yup, that’s being a Palace fan. We are having the best year ever but I’m still on those tenterhooks whenever we play. Think it’s down to the number of chances we miss together with our final ball lacking? Think the Liverpool’s of this world when on top form have what we are missing?

Indeed.

TBF though, I can only compare it to when other teams look so in control in games and I'm guessing my lack of a sense of peril is through not caring too much if it does happen!

With Palace you care, so everything is potentially the end of the world, far more dramatic and far more perilous.

The nature of being a football fan I suppose.

Uche has featured in 7 games for us, has never started and in 6 of the 7 games he was introduced in the fray in the following minutes :
83,84,86,87,89 and 89.
It is perhaps not sagacious to form a judgement after such cameo appearances.
Fair comment.
However, it is difficult to find where he fits in.
Watching him in warm ups (I acknowledge, not the most reliable indicator), he looks to have good control of the ball and quick feet.
In the limited minutes he has had in my view he doesn't look to be a central striker or an 'inside forward' who will have the discipline and put the work on of Sarr and Pino.
He's still relatively inexperienced and apparently played in an attacking midfield role at his last club.
It may be that coaching will bring him up to speed with Glasner's methods, but it's not a given.

Yeah, it is heavily ingrained in to all of us. I am trying to relax and enjoy the good times though. The second half against Villa in the semi (and most of the games against them) springs to mind plus the whole concept of being in the Community Shield at Wembley with nothing to lose and a lot to gain.

I feel we have closed out the Brentford and AZ games well, without the players really breaking a sweat, even if we can’t say the same for the fans!

Either he isn't meeting standard, or we are trying not to trigger something in the loan deal?

No judgement from me, it’s just both teams had a big black fella come on and both sets of fans might have been thinking the same 😃
