Conference league final tickets

I've booked a flight to Frankfurt from Heathrow that lands at 11.05am, does anyone know how long roughly it will it take me to get through customs, etc and get to the train station at the airport?

Can see there's a train at 11.45 but looks like there is a couple of changes including a 17 min walk to another station.

Assuming the better bet is to go for ones at 12.36 or 12.41 which also include changes but not changing stations or just wait for the 13.02 which is direct to Leipzig.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

No doubt sods law will come into play -
If you book the 11.45 train there will be delays and queues at the airport, so u will be constantly on edge right up to the point when u miss the train - if u book the 13.02 everything will go smoothly and u will be on the platform in plenty of time to wave the 11.45 on its way -

If it was me, I would just book the 13.02, wander through the entry process in whatever time it takes, relax and maybe enjoy a beer in the airport bar, taking comfort from knowing the 13.02 is a direct train service to Leipzig.

I land at 09:30 and have gone for the 11:00 train direct from Frankfurt Airport to Leipzig. There are a few direct trains.

Going by previous European trips since the changes, it has taken me around 30 mins to get through immigration but it all depends on the queues.

Have you worked out how to get from airport to main train station and how long etc?
Hi mate

The train station is built into the airport .
looking at online vids it looks a 10 min walk as you want the long distance side
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) has two train stations located at Terminal 1: the Fernbahnhof (long-distance, Floor 3)

Thankfully I booked a 'reserve now pay later' Hotel right in Leipzig City Centre back in August so accommodation is sorted and at a very reasonable price

I booked flights yesterday as they were going up and up and will only continue to rise.

Flying from Heathrow at 06.55 to Munich on the Tuesday then 3 hour train to Leipzig.

Coming home on Thursday. Got to get a 4 hour train to Cologne from Leipzig then a 18.55 flight to Gatwick.
Flights and train fares came to £380 which i didn't think was too shabby.

I need to be in a meeting in Kent at 9:30am
Thursday morning. So have got a 6:55am flight from Berlin to London city airport. Jeopardy is last train from Leipzig to Berlin is 23:36 which is fine if it doesn’t go to extra time. If it does…

What a dilemma if it goes to extra time!!

Oh well.... I'm sure the meeting can be rescheduled! 😂

Either way I’m staying for whole game and working out getting to Berlin issue at the end! Thinking of renting a car in Leipzig with drop off point being Berlin airport. Might be the solution. Lack of sleep will be interesting

Im looking at the same train and plane, as its the cheaper option, the station is a 10 min walk away so very close by but a bit of a risk with extra time and penalties possble

Do we think there is any chance that holding your nerve with the travel might provide more options once we are confirmed as finalists? As in they might potentially add more flights to accomodate demand?

It seems like at the moment the options are either pay a fortune to get anywhere close to Leipzig, get a flight somewhere else in Europe and then have hours on a train, or spend 20+ hours on a coach hungover. Don't massively fancy any of them.
Looks like you need to do more research sir. There are no flights direct from England to Leipzig, other than privately chartered ones and thus, every single other alternative (if flying from England) involves significant onward transport of at least two hours.
I fear you may find that you'll have to cough up a lot of dosh if you now (or later) choose to go looking.

It's more like 30 mins I think as is about 3km. As you say the risk is extra time and penalties but also even if you want to stay to watch the team lift the trophy (assuming we win which after yesterday is not a guarantee)

Finally booked accommodation today.

1 night in Wroclaw £50 (split between two of us)

2 nights in Leipzig (20 mins drive south) £290 (again split between two)

1 night back in Wroclaw £65 (between 2)

All sorted. Just need to buy the train tickets from Wroclaw>Leipzig return which are cheaper on the Polish train site than the German.

So my cousin in Scotland sent me this earlier.. Rangers have been using this company for European travel for years.

This deal is pre second leg price only, however you get a full refund if you don't qualify.

Return flights from Gatwick to Leipzig from the Tuesday to the Thursday with bloody good flight times as well. £610 all in, which considering you can't fly to Leipzig direct normally from the UK and the price of the flights to other German Cities are already at silly prices is not a bad price at all.

Just want to clarify, the deal is pre second leg only? What happens if Palace do qualify? Will the deal change?
