Commentators

I had a brief relationship with a female commentator. No sense of humour. Being a commentator you'd have thought she'd have reacted fondly when hearing the words "They think it's all over. It is now"

These are consecutive quotes from a page on Martin Tyler which seemed appropriate.

  • "Here's the chance!"
  • "There he is, that fox in that box!"
  • "Good pass."
  • "Excellent interception under some pressure I must say."
  • "Superbly done!"

I married two. Not at the same time of course. I’m game for anything but not that level of masochism!
As the Pogues sang in The Gentleman Soldier -
"For married I am already and children I have three; Two wives are allowed in the army but one's too many for me".

That's why I love the 'sports' mode on my smart tv - virtually wipes out the commentary to a background mumble whilst boosting the stadium sounds.
I'm in the market for a new tv... which one do you have where 'sports mode' can be engaged - sounds wonderful!

I've got a Samsung, but I believe most TV's have this now - best to check with your retailer (and you can then see it in action for yourself). Generally, it makes the picture a lot 'brighter' - great for days like Saturday where there's deep shade, and also increases the 'stadium' sound whilst decreasing the commentary. Wouldn't watch football or rugby without it these days!

Afterthought: Have you actually tried pressing the 'sport' button on your remote?

Well not a commentator but Spayne Spooney was a pundit on MOTD2 yesterday.
My god! No wonder he couldn't motivate any of those teams he's managed! "Dull and ineloquent" would be too kind!
