Commentators

He’s married to my aunties niece.
Been to a couple of family weddings with him.
Loves a buffet
I vaguely recall a commentary (Possibly on the radio) whereby Jonathan Pearce was commentating on a Palace match. After a goal or victory (My memory has faded into the mists of time) he was bellowing out "They will be celebrating in the ......" listing some public houses in the Croydon area.

Yeah he’s a proper Palace fan, as are the family he married into. His father in law (same age as him) is always in the exec lounge , looks like Terry Venebles. Nice people. Pearce got my dad a signed picture of the Palace team when my old man only had a week or so to live . Don’t think my dad knew a lot about it and was preoccupied with leaving 3 young kids at 41 , but a nice touch.

Pearce is a good commentator. Loved him when he did the radio commentary on Capital Gold. He also wasn’t shy about calling todays horrendous challenge what it was and criticising the Millwall fans for their disgusting chanting

I remember him on capital gold in the days before we had blanket coverage of the games on tv and we had to listen to the radio and I agree he was my favourite.
Only bad thing was that Mullery was a regular presenter!!

And doing the adds too..."Labatts premium lager, a lager in a league of its own"...remember that?

Watched the penalty shoot out on the ManU/Fulham game... after the female pitchside was interviewing the Fulham goalie........."Can you talk us through those last 2 saves".......

Where's the facepalm emoji when you need one?

Unsurprisingly, the poor goalie struggled to find anything to say in reply that wouldn't make him look like a moron.

I simply cannot abide some female commentators with their high-pitched excitable tones.
Voices digging into my ear like a Q-Tip minus cotton wool.
For avoidance of doubt I have nothing against females, many of whom I have had the sheer pleasure of being in their company over the years.

I listen to the commentary in the build up and for a couple of minutes of play and then I turn those morons off and watch the game in silence, only turning it back on if there's some hubub I need more clarity on. I'd love to have the ability to have sports mode for the crowd without talking.

I watch on Fubo in Canada and in its first days it had a Spanish mode which if you played it for EPL games just gave you crowd noise. After 2 games the Aholes at Fubo found this out and killed the ability.

Silence is better than listening to those fools.
