Can't believe it's taken me so long to realise, but they should give Martin Tyler the axe as a commentator ....heard so much "private talk"/ irrelevant chat with co-comnentator Graham Le Saux, that if you were blind, you'd have NO idea what was happening on the pitch/what player had the ball etc.
A stark contrast to Jonathan Pearce & his co-commentator in today's FA Cup match v Millwall. Great job Jonathan!

I guess if you were blind, the better commentary would be on the radio.

Never liked him, sensationalist who now loves to chat up VAR because he knows it's a talking point.
Every single goal, challenge or fart from a bumblebee and Martin Tyler pops up with an "Of course VAR are checking that"

Jonathan Pearce is one of my favourite commentators so I was pleased he was given today's game and he seems a bit of a Palace boy. In olden days when he commentated on the radio I used to listen to him and turn off the TV sound.

My pet hate, I'm sorry to say, and I don't consider myself to be sexist, are the female commentators who always sound breathlessly high pitched. They are the same when they commentate on rugby.

Agree POG. Kirsty Young would end up sounding like Minnie Ripperton.

Pearce is a good commentator. Loved him when he did the radio commentary on Capital Gold. He also wasn’t shy about calling todays horrendous challenge what it was and criticising the Millwall fans for their disgusting chanting

There is one that I find OK. I can't remember her name but it sounds South African although I don't think that she is judging by her accent.

EDIT Pien Meulensteen who is Dutch and the daughter of René Meulensteen

It must be well over 30 years ago, I was sitting near the back of the old stand right in front of Jonathan Pearce, who was commentating a dreary 2nd division evening game for Capital Gold. The game was dreadful but Pearce was screaming like a banshee, giving the impression to the listeners that it was a rip-roaring game. I've never trusted radio commentary since then !

I'm sure I've heard that he's an Arsenal supporter who has a soft spot for Palace because his wife supports us.

Maybe give her a crack with the mic. She surely can't be any worse than the current crop of daisies.

Yes I remember him doing his radio stuff in the Old stand ,many a time he was told to turn it down .

There was a guy on Talk sport this afternoon doing a game and he asked the woman co-commentator what it was like as a top international striker to sit on the bench ............................Painting the kitchen in silence for the rest of the afternoon I wondered what the cup draw would bring us

I have always believed that Jonathan Pearce is a supporter of Bristol C and that his wife and her family support our club.
