I’ve always been a Dougie fan from the moment we signed him and would love to have him back at the club.

Criticism of our recent recruitment policy looks valid compared to previous world class gems but overall still stands up well against most PL sides Everyone (with the exception of Brennan) has contributed to our successes .

JSL added 2 more international goals to his tally yesterday along with excellent backup duties to JP.

Nketiah when fit scored some important goals (Liverpool comes to mind) as JP’s backup.

Pino (and Kamada) transformed to life in the PL and you could argue we would not be European champions without either.

Riad and Canvot adapted quickly to life in the PL and already look mid table PL quality.

Only Brennan looks out of his depth but we have all seen him perform in the past. He gets the solitary hall pass to next season.

i am sick and tired of being told that all our under-performing new signings will 'come good' will 'bed in' will 'get with the programme'.......
Can i suggest that our entire 'new player recruitment department' should 'bed in' at another Football Club please ? preferably Brighton, or failing that, Charlton.

Why, with most signing at most clubs this is what happens. They need time to adapt.

I'm sick and tired of our so called fans signing off pretty much every new signing, but then watching them be part of our most ever successful 12 months.

Some signings don't come off.
There's no shame in this as every club has misses.
The art is to get more hits than misses, particularly in key positions.
Time isn't always the answer, however fair one tries to be.
We could still be waiting for the likes of Ahamada, and Meyer to come good and sadly Franca may fall into this category.
I see it as case of critical fans being realistic rather than negative, as long as they don't go over the top.

Eze was amazing for us.......whereas for Arsenal ?
Eze's main ability is to drift round avoiding the rough and tumble and responsibility, and end up with good timing centrally on the edge of the box whereby he can have a pop at goal. This he is very good at. Other things he isn't so reliable. Still, the club did well with the transfer fee.

Agree that not everyone is going to succeed. If so it would be a pretty east game to play.

IMO a lot of fans are constantly over the top, and have spent a lot of the season slagging off players.

Not sure the Arsenal bit is true. This season in the League he scored 7 for them. Last season he scored 8 for us. Seems quite similar
It's more of a perception than the reality. I think his lazy looking style doesn't help him with Arsenal. The penalty miss will not be forgotten, I suspect.

Every sports news feed is now riddled with stories linking our stars to big Summer transfers.
Reminds me of another Dougie virtue......he kept the talent at Selhurst. Most famously with Zaha, but also with many minor heroes.

We could now be facing a tsunami of talent leaving us.
