He walked out of Eintracht Frankfurt with a year left on his contract, so you statement is incorrect.Glasner, seems the type who will honour his contract before taking over at a major Club for a new challenge.
Apparently, never commits beyond a two year contract and we have been very fortunate in having someone of his calibre at the helm.
No he didn't - it appears he at best left mutually or worst case was sacked after a poor end to the previous season. He walked out of Eintracht Frankfurt with a year left on his contract, so you statement is incorrect.
It was Glasner's decision to walk away from Frankfurt. He said so himself. Frankfurt are obviously going to spin a different story. Notice they say 'end their relationship'. If they'd sacked him they'd have said 'terminate his contract'No he didn't - it appears he at best left mutually or worst case was sacked after a poor end to the previous season.
After lengthy and intensive discussions and a detailed analysis with head coach Oliver Glasner, Eintracht Frankfurt has decided to end their relationship following the 2022/23 season. The club's sporting development and overall performance in the second half of the season prompted the club's management to reassess the status quo, resulting in the aforementioned decisions. The 48-year-old's contract was originally scheduled to run until June 30, 2024.
The Sky guy (never remember his name) said conversations have begun, that talks will get serious during the international break while there is time in Glasner's schedule and that should talks go well the club hope to be able to announce something by Christmas.Regardless lets hope Steve has a plan.
Glasner categorically denied that he'd turned down a new contract. What a surprise, mainstream sports media complete lying as per usual.
But potentially more worrying, is that conversations havent been happening.... or maybe they have but he hasn't specifically had a contract to turn down....
Wishful thinking but it's possible that OG has no intention of leaving and is happy enough with the speculation around his future since it's in his control and is better than the media concentrating on trying to sell our players. The Sky guy (never remember his name) said conversations have begun, that talks will get serious during the international break while there is time in Glasner's schedule and that should talks go well the club hope to be able to announce something by Christmas.
If he says no I'd imagine Hobbs will start work from January looking for a new man to start in the summer.
I hope Glasner can be convinced to stay. I heard recently he has now moved his family to London so thats a very positive sign.
that's a very specific interpretation of the formal press release issued by the club, as if you read on it also states the club were the ones to reassess the arrangement following a poor end to the season. It was Glasner's decision to walk away from Frankfurt. Thats your opinion. Fair enough. Mine is Glasner isn't the type to dick people around. He said whe Palace first approached him he was invited over to tour the training ground and watch a game. Once he heard what Parish had to say there was no going away to think about it. He just said ok lets do this (meaning start in the summer). Obviously ended up coming sooner than expected due to concerns over Roy's health.that's a very specific interpretation of the formal press release issued by the club, as if you read on it also states the club were the ones to reassess the arrangement following a poor end to the season.
It appears it was very much a mutual decision - no doubt Oli asked for xy and z and the club weren't prepared or had the finances to meet these demands. I think the press release was worded as a sign of respect to his achievements.
IMHO there is no way Oli will sign a new contract with us before the end of the winter window and will probably review things next summer. He is perfectly entitled to do so.
More journalist drivel for some Man U fan.More speculation in the media:

Five players Oliver Glasner could take to Man Utd if he replaces Ruben Amorim
Ruben Amorim is under pressure at Manchester United and Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is emerging as a leading candidate to replace him should he be axed.www.express.co.uk
It is the model of plausibility that Glasner could have asserted that he had no desire to consider a new contract before the end of the season, consequently no new contract has been presented to him.Regardless lets hope Steve has a plan.

Ollie was always due to take over in the summer of ‘24. That just brought it forward by a few months due to Roy’s poor health. We bought Munoz and Wharton in the January window in readiness for him and the formation he was going to play.Unfortunately Glasner may well leave at the end of this season BUT after the season we are having we will have our pick of managers to replace him.
Remember how long it took to appoint someone in 2024? There were at least two managers who turned us down I recall. Well I don’t think that will be the case if we are playing in Europe and have a top 6 finishing team (even with one or two moving on) next summer.
OK yes I am thinking of the 2022 summer when Viera came in. Nuno ES was apparently offered the job and a German manager turned us down before Viera accepted.Ollie was always due to take over in the summer of ‘24.
