C'mon Steve.......nail Ollie down before it's too late!

Glasner stated recently that he is playing the system that we are at the moment because the players we have are not suited to his preferred system which is 442. It may well be that Man U do not have the right players for the 5 at the back system and Glasner would also struggle to get a tune out of them. He may however think that he could get the players to play his 442 system and might therefore think a move to Man U is an attractive one. Let’s hope not but the fact that Man U is failing at the moment may not put Glasner off going there.COYP

Their players are superb. Most could walk into our side.

Ours are largely middle weights. Good but very mid table.

It is the tune the coaching staff have got out of them which makes our team world beaters and their team lower mid table.

Hence the thread.
I disagree. Firstly Glasner is a great coach but not a magician. He is good at getting the best out of our players but he would not be able to do that unless the talent was already there.
Secondly, looking at United's team their club and in particular their DoF and recruitment has been appalling in the last 5 years. They buy average players and pay way way over their true value. Maguire at £80m is not an isolated signing. The reason they were on the brink of running out of money only 6 months ago is the ridiculous transfer fees and wages they are still paying. And their answer? Make all the canteen staff redundant and make existing staff pay their own travel expenses and buy their own tickets! Do they once consider the possibility of spending less on players? Never. United's players are average at best and way overrated. There isn't one single player in United's team I'd swap a Palace player for and that has nothing to do with Glasner

Thats rubbish. Glasner has never preferred a 442 formation. Never

It's true, I also remember him having mentioned this in one of his interviews lately.
... he said something like this: formations are overrated, what really counts are automatisms and clear patterns in which the players behave. He further said having played many different formations at his past clubs, always trying to find the formation which particularly suits best the players available (with 442 being his personal favourite).

Fair enough

When you are already richer than you'd ever need, then better experiences become more important than extra money specifically, because success brings that anyway.

Especially if you're in the latter part of your life like your 50s.
F*ck me! That’s a bit harsh. I’m 70 and still reckon I’ve another 30 years!

That’s what I said to my daughter when Eze(her favourite player) was leaving, as palace fans we just have to enjoy the good ones managers or players while we can, because they all leave in the end.

I still haven’t recovered from Edouard leaving 😇🤣
I've just finished my treatment for mental health problems caused by Don Rogers f***ing off to QPR.

I'd like to see you justify that. especially in our formation

I'd take Fernandez - minus his attitude - over Pino and probably Yoro over Richards. At a stretch, Mainoo to partner Wharton but he would need to show he can improve athletically
That's it
Yoro over Richards. On potential maybe otherwise Chris beats him on current ability

And Chris is ours not some Manc wannabe. Fernandes has been a good player but he's a snide. Lurch Maguire? Enough said. Not to even mention the goalkeepers they've picked after letting a far, far better one go. What happened to him?

In 454 matches in charge of many teams, he has played 442 six times, maybe he is taking the piss
