Of course if this were true, the last thing any man who’s too cowardly to live true to himself will do, is ever admit this to himself or others.

What he might do however is attack anyone who’s achieved that which he’s been unable to do, and seek to celebrate anybody who has failed as miserably as he has himself, to normalise and dilute his failure.

As I said before I had never heard of the guy, so hold no opinion of any kind on him. I am merely reflecting on the attitudes, frequently expressed here, of those who seem to regard demonstrating machismo characteristics as a virtue and insult all those who don’t. Which includes me.

I loath it. I believe people should be whatever they are but never at the expense of others. I particularly dislike bullies and the use of force to settle arguments. Which, by the way, is different to the use of force to ensure compliance with the law.

If I watch a movie, which is infrequent, I do so because of its subject and not because of who are employed to play the roles. I am totally uninterested and unimpressed by star status and pay no attention to it.

Yet felt the need to post half a dozen times on someone you professed to never hearing about & even had to Google to find out any information on him? I generally, if not interested in a thread tend to either scroll through or not view. How very strange.

If you actually bothered to try to understand my comments you might realise I wasn’t really commenting on him but on the reactions to his death.

The reactions to his death are merely a reflection of the nostalgia some felt for the films he made many years ago. It's a reaction to the passing of time rather than fetishization of his "toughness".
Some people like action films and why not? We can't all enjoy rom-coms or period dramas.
 
Chuck Norris once stared down some looney woke libs who were demanding he check his privilege.

He just said "Facts don't care about your feelings" and their whole ideology crumbled faster than their safe space bubble wrap. 🤣
