There was a story about Richard Wattis taking offence to something Jack Palance said at a party and slapping him round the face. Mr. Palance didn't appreciate it and Wattis ran away. Wisely. Only one winner there.

Nah, he was excellent in 'Colditz' played a paratrooper in 'The Longest Day' he was in 'Sykes' & a few 'St Trinians' & loads of 60's British comedy's.

I remember him well. He regularly turned up in British made films as a support actor (but not as the lead).
I seem to remember him being the celebrity supporter when Palace had a team on the BBC TV Quiz Ball programme back in the 60s.
