Chadi Riad

Found a site i could use . . .

This on top of the Chaloboah return rules out even the slightest possibility of Guehi leaving this window.
The Doucoure injury sounds long term too.
Personally I would prefer us to buy another defensive midfielder rather than another central defender.
Clyne and Lerma provide adequate cover for a back 3, but we need more options in midfield.
There also remains the possibility of playing with a back 4, although many on here are convinced that Glasner won’t do this.

At Eintracht Frankfurt, Glasner played 3-2-4-1, 3-4-2-1, 3-4-1-2 so whilst there were some formation changes the constant was a back 3.

Ward has been added to the 'crocked' list Calf Strain apparently. Whilst i agree with you about Clyne & Lerma, Clyne usually covers for Mitchell & if Doucoure's injury is long term we will need Lerma alongside Hughes & hope to god Wharton gets fit enough to return.

Being reported by the 'Mail'(there's a link on the hompage but its behind a paywall) that his knee injury is now an ACL. If true, that's him out till next season & may change our transfer strategy.
Very sad for him and us. Worrying a player of his age having so many injuries. That very rarely ends well and as we’ve seen before can spiral. Even without the injury he was an unknown quantity really. This probably means we won’t be seeing him regularly playing first team football until 2026 if at all. Any further defensive injuries and we have a significant problem.

We will definitely need to bring in two centre halves in the summer if Guehi goes. A back three of Lacroix, Richards and one of Clyne or Lerma doesn’t fill me with any confidence.

Which is part of the reason why I suggested another midfielder should be added.
It’s just bringing forward what we would likely to have to do in the summer in any event with uncertainty over the futures of Hughes and Lerma, both of whom aren’t getting any younger.
Doucoure’s injury looks long term too which would mean scarcely any football over 2 seasons.
And finally it’s not known for sure when Wharton will be able to play a full role in our team.

Also heard that Riad's injury is an ACL and out for the season.

Also hearing that Doucoure's injury is a meniscus, so likewise will be out for the season
You have to think we will need to be looking at some loan cover for one of those positions then. Leaves an already thin squad even thinner

Things are looking pretty bleak on the long term injury front.
The only consolation I can see is that we are not alone on this topic.
More and more elite players seem to be getting long term (in some cases career changing) injuries.
What a downer.

I’m sure you can be too fit.
You only have so many breaths, so many heart beats, so many miles, so many jumps etc. and I’ve never had an ACL or metatarsal or miniscus. 😂

If Doucoure being out probably long term and Wharton being an unknown when he comes back, is there any merit in bringing Ozoh back from his loan spell? I read he’s on the bench so is fit again. With him back, no loan needed and no funds spent. At least with him and Devenny we would have sensible cover for Hughes and Lerma or if one of the remaining back 3 gets injured Lerma could drop back.

Shame about Riad, just our luck after Trev getting yanked back to Chelsea.
