wondered if people had made claims against airlines and what they got back, we had a cancelled flight 10 Minutes before departure due to technical faults and had a 36 hour delay getting to our final destination it was direct flight from London to Asia with a 2nd flight on to another destination in Asia same airline.

Look up the UK and the EU legislation. Fill in the relevant forms. There is no need for those compensation lawyers. All the forms are easily available online. You should be entitled but there are very specific guidelines. Plus receipts required. I've had Ryanair f*** me over several times. But got compensation from decent airlines.
