Brighton vs Crystal Palace match thread

if you argument is that he should be playing for us at RB/RWB as he's a Spanish international i'd politely disagree.

Based on what i've seen he looks quite limited and a Middlesboro reserve did him a couple of times in the league cup match.

A squad player at best IMHO

We’ve not really anything of him, but what we have seen of Khalaili isn’t very good at all.

I don’t know if Mingueza is going to prove any better, but a bloke deemed good enough to be tried for the best international side in the world is certainly worth giving a proper chance IMO.

Another example of how things can change on the back of a couple of defeats, not so long ago he was looking like an excellent replacement for Munoz

We are 'Birds on the same twig' apropos Khalaili.
The Belgian League is of course vastly different to the PL and perhaps he will improve as he gets accustomed to the rigours and demands of the latter.

I think there’s every chance he does - he has good athleticism and seems technically solid but there’s a real naivety to his game and he’s shown poor decision making in and out of possession - it was his stupid lunge on Dunk which led to the first goal on Sunday.

Khalaili looks like what he is; a player with a real lack of top-level experience

Agreed, but I do think the ingredients are there for him to prosper, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Think on Sunday he has the pace just to hold up dunk well anyone and not tackle . But the CHs should have been shouting hold , that means no need to tackle , that is a sign of a good defence

Not sure. Wing back and CB are very different positions. You have to be far more aware, without the safety net of the touchline beside you all game. (Sorry, I know you probably know this.) I don't think one can necessarily just transfer there seamlessly, with no prior experience playing there.

Clyne adapted quite well a few years ago to the RCB role.

Mitch on the LCB and Chilwell at LWB could work - if the latter is fit.

We have Fulham in the cup next week - if there's a game to experiment with that's it.
