Brighton vs Crystal Palace match thread

I don't think things are that bad, we've definitely got a squad strong enough and if the rumours are true, City will be getting a 60 point deduction in the new year, so thats one team gone. We're still a fairly attractive job for most managers out there.
It might be City relegated in addition to the other 3 worst clubs, then 4 come up from the Championship...

I think Parish will be sounding out Thomas Frank.
I was never sure about Frank. He certainly talks a good game and is the darling of the media. It’s interesting that his best season was after Andrews was appointed as set piece coach and Brentford relied more on set pieces. Andrews has done even better than Frank.
He has said he’s not interested in a job at this time as he’s enjoying studying football courtesy of the fat pay off from Spuds. It might be interesting to see what he’s learned from his travels I suppose.

I posted on the 15th of September that I thought he wasn't the right man for the job, so it's not a knee-jerk reaction to today's nightmare. I stick by what I posted in September.

Ye I'm not convinced either. But could see Parish going for him as he knows how to work with a small budget.

Who knows but major changes are needed. Whether that's Sage's tactics or the manager himself.

I think Sage is having the same problem we all have in terms of identifying his safest back three without Lacroix. It’s probably Richards, Tomiyasu, and Canvot. Lerma can do a job on the right but I’m not convinced he can lead the line from the middle. In the absence of Tomiyasu I’d be tempted to go with Chilwell if he’s fit. With both out plus Riad it feels like making the best of a bad job.
He tried to accommodate Ahanor today by moving Canvot to the right. It didn’t work because Khalaili goes walkabout or gets left for dead and Canvot is exposed. He’s better on the left because he has Mitchell for cover. I think today showed that Richards isn’t the answer in the centre either.
Perhaps today’s lineup was a last attempt to make 3 at the back work before switching to a more defensive back 4. If not he will probably bring the unpredictable and cumbersome Disasi back in between Richards and Canvot.

I too had my reservations based on his experience and the difficult situation he was inheriting.
What has not helped his cause is the activity in the summer 'Transfer Window'.
Just home and I’m still fuming …. I said at the time that the transfer window all seemed last minute.com with panic buys with no quality in mind. It felt disjointed and that is reinforced how Sage treated his new recruits. I’m standing by that and I’m now of the opinion that Sage is definitely not the one, irrespective of how bad our recruitment team are.
What I witnessed today was a disgrace by all of those on the pitch and the sidelines!
So so peed off with it!!!
Another rant over

I would love to know the terms of Glasner contract. Presumably if they sack him he gets the full 3 years at £15m per year. Maybe they put in a settlement clause with a lower figure.

Mate he’s just had a 3 week international break to work on and think about formation.

It was worse today than ever.

Sage just ain’t up to it - cut our losses and move on, otherwise this is only getting to get worse..
