Brighton vs Crystal Palace match thread

I’m not a “one bad result and sack the manager guy,” but this team comes out consistently unprepared, the defense is constantly out of position, young promising players have either regressed (Canvot, Wharton)or have been forgotten about completely (Osorio, Gozo, etc).

Overall we see 2/3 disjointed football with flashes of brilliance. If not for some miraculous fortune last week, we’re staring at the relegation zone.

I think Sage just got very lucky when at Lens to lead them to 2nd place. He has now exposed his lack of tactical knowledge. He has absolutely no idea what he is doing. I hear some of you blaming the recruitment or the players themselves. I don't, I blame the manager. He is in my opinion not far off De Boer standard. Sack him now!!!

We have to acknowledge though that it simply isn’t working with him in charge though. Not saying it can’t work but it isn’t. We are almost 20% through the league season and we are the worst defense in the division. There is no obvious plan to change this and no signs it’s improving. In fact it looks like we are getting worse. Something has to change. Whether that’s the tactics or the manager remains to be seen but it can’t go on like this.
It’s hard to understand that Parish praised the hell out of him & his accolades last 3 seasons spoke highly

Is it the coach ?

These players just don’t seem hungry , they are Lazy throughout this game in their approach , seem lost to actually play simple football

It that the coaches fault ?

Will Howe or Dyche fix that ?

Did Parish send a message of doom too early on in the dressing room ?

My honest take is that Parish gives Sage until the Liverpool game on November 8th. That is the last game before the international break. We have Newcastle, Fulham and Spurs along with Beşiktaş and Hoffenheim. If we are out of the cup and not picking up points against a poor spurs and Newcastle side I think his race could be run.

And I believe Jordan, ignoring normal etiquette, strode into the dressing room straight after the game and delivered his own rollocking, and offered to reimburse the visiting Palace fans with their travel expenses.
And that season ended in promotion after he wielded the axe 😳

If not his fault then certainly his responsibility. On of the jobs of the manager is to motivate the team.

You have to wonder if dropping players and publicly calling them out (something hardly any good managers do) might be an issue? You also have to wonder if the players can see the tactics are all wrong but are having to follow them. Or maybe they are simply confused because the instructions are unclear.

Clearly we know that Hobbs doesn't take a chequebook out and prance around the world on his own buying up who he fancies.
He is the one however IN CHARGE of fuckin recruitment mate, therefore he cops a good deal of the responsibility for the players we are able to put out.
I would suggest his choices are not upto bleedin standard.

You again do not know that.

Sporting Director is his title which could be anything.
