Yes the defence is poor but then so is everyone in front of them. Our midfield is non existent and completely overrun. Looked like Kamada came back into the midfield near the end of the half but even then we couldn’t find a pass decent enough to get us out of trouble. A fit Sarr and Matetta won’t make much difference as they need a pass to them. Just perhaps a long ball to Matetta will allow him to win it and bring others in. But huge doubts we won’t still keep giving the ball away :-(
 
The press from us is non-existant. This is such an important part of modern football and it’s being negligently ignored. If Sage will not or cannot address this he will be sacked sooner rather than later. Look at our 2 wins this season. Fulham and Forest should have been out of sight. It’s a total shambles….

Many supporters said selling Munoz and brining in Khalali was good business. One main reason was people questioning Munoz’s defensive ability. I know it is early days but so far Khalali looks like a terrible buy. He is one of the worst defenders I’ve seen at this level. Always out of position, weak physically and makes awful decisions.
 
Guess this has been coming. Our defending is awful and we start every game asleep. Sage doesn't seem to be able to fix either issue. We'll probably play better in the second half now and nick a goal but it's too little too late. I really want it to work with him, when Dyche is the likely alternative, but without a drastic defensive improvement we're going to slide down the table.

The easy answer is to blame Sage but at the end of the day he can't make a silk purse out of the players he has to choose from and the blame for the that is at the top of the tree ''Parish'' and the signs are there relegation is awaiting unless someone can find a miracle to save us at this rate!
 
Wharton is lightweight and lacks stamina. Can't control the midfield on his own, needs a couple of minders round him. The system is all wrong - perhaps the new manager will fix it, because Sage persists with stuff that patently doesn't work and looks rather lost on the touchline.
 
As I said before the start of the game…4/5-0 thrashing. TBH I would take that now. We are shambolic. Unfortunately, I think we have to let Sage go. He is out of his depth and he is at fault for us defending with three centre backs with the two wing backs high up the field. We are not Barcelona.
 
All managers need time, 6 transfer windows to really build their own squad and implement their own style, you'll be lucky to get that in the prem and looking at Sage and how we've started, I really don't think he deserves time, its a shame but he hardly exudes confidence, lets just cut our loses now. Get Howe in and give him time to identify the squad before January.

Sage is the manager. Get the best team with the players youve got available, its simple. 3 at the back doesnt work.
