Brighton vs. Crystal Palace match thread

The captain was my MoM. That one-on-one save was equivalent to scoring a goal at the other end, his positioning and anticipation were faultless throughout, his leadership was passionate, and his celebration at the end brought a tear to my eye. This game feels like a real turning point in our season.

A great win.

Guessand made a difference. Pino was non existent. Larsen worked hard.

A lot of work to do, but 2 more wins and a couple of draws for safety with the Conference as a bonus.

I noticed Phil Alexander seated next to Brighton Chief Executive Paul Barber.
I had intended to enjoy a night at home but I am now sorely tempted to enjoy a few 'Tinctures' at a local Public House ! 👍 🤣
Your in a good mood tonight Willo. Can’t think why 😂

Result of the season (and we beat the champions 3 times)

Lacroix unsung player of the year.

What a difference a full squad makes.

Lacroix is a brilliant player and we’re lucky to have him.

Guessand looks promising and made an impact. JSL looked rusty but put in a shift. That bodes well for me.

I also think Lerma and Hughes did very well today. Less spectacular players but Lerma particularly doesn’t quite get the praise I think he should.

The relief is unreal after that result. Performance was slightly better too.

Seeing the bench today is the first time in yonks I can remember thinking the starting XI doesn’t pick itself purely as a result of lack of options.

Henderson’s passion was the icing on the cake for me.

I’m not gonna get overexcited but gawd I hope things have turned a corner now.

Yep, means we all go into next week in better moods and spirit. And, if we can beat Burnley, then we can focus on some European success

How bloody good!? Let's push on now boys. Some observations:

I stand corrected on Riad/Lerma. I was pushing for Riad to start, but Lerma was fantastic today and makes us super solid and reliable there. Also has a bit of bite to him which gets the team up for it. Throw in his presence from set piece and he has to stay there now I think. I stand corrected.

Munoz makes us so much better...and he wasn't even at his best today. Can't wait for him to get up to speed.

Rest of the defence was solid. Love Max.

How bloody good was Will Hughes!? I lost track of how many times he anticipated a play, won a tackle and played a simple ball into Wharton or the front three to create. It's telling that Henderson had very very little to do. Closing gaps. Intercepting. Tackling hard. Fouling when needed. An absolute vital cog and unsung hero.

Wharton not at his best, but still makes us better and threatens with his vision and passing.

JSL great for his first game - he'll improve once he understands the system and the movements of his teammates better. Jean-Phillipe who?

Great sub appearance from Guessand and Kamada and Johnson did nothing wrong when they came on. So good to have decent depth and options now.

Buzzing. Up the palace!
