One thing is that we had a couple of free kicks just outside the box. He doesn't even take them but he seems to be able to actually take a shot from free kicks. No one else seems able to do it. He's certainly not doing anything else.
He keeps picking him because he works hard in the system. For OG that is much more important than actually passing the ball, creating, scoring or winning. For OG the ‘system’ is the be all and end all. Everything else, including results, is secondary

Most effective playmaker out there. He is bringing Brighton defenders into the game every time he gets the ball.
Because we get picked off, when they lose the ball upfield. That's how we concede most of our goals against, teams have sussed it.

It's a huge surprise that when you play exactly the same way the whole time that other teams might work that out. Albeit quite slowly in fairness. It seems to have taken about a year to work Glasner out. But it's clearly happened. It like deja vu every week now. We need luck to win by the looks of things. We could even try a bit of passion but where would that come from now?

I'm not convinced by that argument. The clips of him doing well (or at least, doing ok here and there) for Villarreal suggest he played as much in the inside left position as on the right.
Any player taking initiative and trying to do anything positive will be shouted at by OG and subbed. System, system, system

Which is why its not a hanging offence to change it to 4 at the back .If you wing backs are not going to attack they are full backs
