Brexit what Brexit

Yup one of the most overrated issues by the media. It was not a big deal and never would be.

I frequently travel in and outside of Europe most countries have now increased security checks it's the price of travel these days. So you wait in a queue for an extra 10 minutes.

Hardly worth giving away our sovereignty.
Precisely!

Starmer invited Europe’s unelected bureaucrats to London, and it took him less than a few hours to raise the white flag and surrender our hard-won Brexit freedoms.
He has totally disregarded the democratic will of the British people.
He and his disreputable Government are a total and utter disgrace.

I shall refrain from making any further comment on this 'Thread' as this catastrophic deal makes my 'Blood boil' and steaming akin to a cooked clam is NOT in the interests of my health. 😡 😡 😡

By jingo you don't like Johnny Foreigner very much old bean. Perhaps a trench and an Anderson shelter in the back garden to warn them off.😊😉

Not an uncommon reaction. Ask French or Dutch people their opinion of Germans.

Isn't this what Brexit was all about, being able to do our own deals with other countries and trade blocks? Including Europe. As for fishing, with 70% of all our fishing being sold to the EU, it makes sense to me to have much better access to the European market without all the extra costs that we incurred after Brexit and with no increase in the number of European trawlers in our waters.

To me it looks like we're on our way to getting what many said we would never achieve, trade access to the EU, without being a member. We now have the best trade access to Europe of any country outside the EU.

It takes me 20 goes at slapping my passport down on the digital scanner before I can get back onto British land. Last time I was told by a female African staff member to do something I couldn’t understand. Eventually I understood she wanted me to get out of the booth and wait for the green light prompt again, all while people behind me are getting annoyed at 11:00pm.
You mean you are incapable of operating the egate? It's not hard. A 5 year old could do it if they were tall enough.

Which freedom did we lose? The one where we get our own massive queue instead of the short fast EU one? The one we shared with all the other nations?? That freedom?

On one of my trips to the EU I got off a UK flight to find there there were 2 queues 1 of Brits one for EU. The EU queue was shorter (obviously, as majority of passengers were British) so they got through quicker.

A passenger in our queue complained that if it wasn't for Brexit we would have been through a lot quicker. I pointed out that if if the flight had been full of EU passengers then their queue would have been the longer one. They only had a couple of staff manually checking everyone on both queues.

Oddly the checks they were doing for both queues seemed to be the same.

A five year old can also sit on a hard floor for half an hour then get up and run round the room and I can't do that either.
Look at the bigger picture - duty free fags back for European trips? What a result.

Oooh, hark at her, getting all catty.

You obviously can’t understand what I said. I said it took 20 goes at slapping the passport down on the digital reader and it still doesn’t work. Not my fault if the technology is sh1t.

It's also nothing to do with Brexit then either. I reckon a 5 year old could also tell you that. Although TBF it might have been caused by one of those low quality, cheap and EU made blue passports. You know, the ones made in Poland that replaced the ones made in Gateshead at the cost of 200 jobs.

Who's gonna tell this guy it was a price worth paying and Starmer sold out then

Last year, I went to Copenhagen - I often go there. I used the non-EU queue which had no one else in it at all, whilst my partner and child used the EU queue which had about two thousand people in it. There are no e-gates. I had time for a coffee before the others got through.
However, no doubt Spain or France would try to make things difficult. Although last year I flew to Alicante and the queue was EU and UK in one. Which is rather the obvious way to do it.

What's the jazz with Copenhagen? If you don't mind me asking.

Nice place - have relatives there: cousins. We're close enough. They give us their apartment which is in the most diverse area - Nordbro - believe you me, it's not Croydon.
If you get the chance go. Frankly, you'll see a successful society largely. Where more or less everyone's looked after and they are not allowing fake refugees to come at all. Which leads to some protests but, realistically, everyone agrees that they don't want the ghettos or Islamification.
Denmark reached it's integration limit and recognised. To be fair, I'd move there tomorrow but I'm not young and I'd prefer to be able to speak the language - which makes little sense to me (despite me being somewhat of a linguist) particularly the pronunciations.
