Brentford vs Crystal Palace match thread

Regarding Wharton, most deep playmakers are there to orchestrate the play rather than to score, but if they are doing their primary job well then the team will be on top for periods, which in turn will result in them getting the chance to shoot from range once in a while. Sometimes that can be crucial, like when Rodri scored the winner for City in the CL final. Wharton's shooting has got better in recent times (as has his ability to create shooting chances for himself), but even if he never cracks it, it's not likely to hold him back. Busquets rarely scored, for example.

Either way, what a lovely, fluid, graceful player he can be. All nine stone of him. If we change to a 433/4231 system next year I would love to see Wharton flanked by athletic, pacey, powerful midfielders who go box to box and get on the end of crosses etc, old school. I think he would shine even more, then.
How this is to be paid for, I have not yet decided. I will come back to you after another beer.

Exactly this, and as I've said for ages, he's Busquets in play.
