I read somewhere that AV cant afford to use Elliot, something to do with the way that the loan deal is structured, (OK - just gone back & found the article) it says that if he makes 10 PL starts in this season then AV have to buy him (£35 Million) & they cant afford to do that (FFP/ PSR)

They won't be paying 60mil for Johnson then. And nor will we. That's the obvious part of this.

I don't believe that.

Why would you do a signing with those terms to begin with them plus if they trigger the clause it doesn't mean that they straight away have to pay the full balance so the whole FFP/PSR thing is BS.

I remember people claiming this sort of thing before with Villa and then they went and signed Rashford on Loan which was not cheap.

Villa have had to comply with europe's stricter psr rules and have struggled due to having such a high wage bill. They only made one big signing in the summer and that is after selling ramsay to newcastle.
they got a lot of money from duran sall yet only made loan signings to replace him.

It is. Our top 4 fees paid were Benteke, Pino, Nketiah & Sakho. Opinions will be divided on whether we haven't done that well with high fees although it might be divided by 95% or so.

60M seems like an awful lot of money for someone of Johnson's quality. Id probably put him somewhere around the 30M mark.

Perhaps that explains why Spurs are so downright useless at the moment.

For some reason Spurs want rid, which in my eyes means he’s not worth what they paid for him given he’s not getting a game. That said, they may still want more than we can afford or are willing to pay. 50/50 this one, in my opinion
