Bournemouth match thread

and the commentators agree with that too!
And so do I. Just watched it on MoD recording. Neither of the so-called fouls by Richards were close to a yellow. The two by Scott, both missed tackles from behind, were far worse. How do we explain this? Was the ref just inept? Or biased? Same as with Willo's friend Clusterf*ck. His performances against Palace were so consistently bad that they had to be biased.

How does that help us when the referee is as bad (bent) as yesterday??? More likely they will pat him on the head, say what a great game he had and maybe even award him the Cup Final as a reward
I certainly do not subscribe to the allegation that the referee consciously made decisions not in our favour on account of some bias against our club.
I am not going to pre-judge the outcome of the after-match assessment of his performance.

from the Lower Holmesdale it looked like a shirt tug- the replay shows it was not and was less a second yellow than two Bournemouth fouls. If he sent Richards off then the other two had to go - it's the inconsistency which is unacceptable. But we were poor first half yesterday, and the ref was not the cause. We've been a bit flat since we beat Fulham 3-0, hope we can hit another high next Saturday. They dug deep second half, but first half they looked like they'd been to the well once too often.

I can assure you that Mark Clattenburg refereed our games free of any bias whatsoever towards our club.

As I said earlier in this thread, the FA must really, really want that showcase Villa v City Cup Final.......

My Manchester United supporting nephew reminded me that there was a top 10 of worst ref decisions in the modern EPL era. Clattenburg had 3 of them. All favouring my nephews (and Clattenburgs) team.

It was an open secret, ike allowing the game to continue way beyond the allowed time to give them a chance to score.

Your assurance, while well intended, does not stand up to scrutiny.

He was a terrific referee and was never against Palace.

His problem was he favoured Man Utd whoever they were playing.

Keep him free of those games and his reputation would be untarnished

With respect this allegation is total and utter hogwash.
Somehow the 'Bournemouth Match Thread' has morphed into a thread apropos 'Mark Clattenburg' and I have no intention of replicating my vast number of sentiments on this subject.
My comments apropos the officiating of Mark have been well documented on HOL.

In recent weeks we've had Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor officiating at Selhurst Park. Supposedly the best referees in the Premier League, which doesn't say a lot for the rest, including Sam Barrott. All of them have conspired to spoil the games through their interpretations of the rules by showing a complete absence of common sense.

I just don't understand his thought processes in failing to give Scott a second yellow and then issuing one to Richards for the slightest of contacts in a far less advanced place on the pitch. And that's when you begin to wonder if it's more than just incompetence but something more sinister.

Ultimately that was a point gained rather than two lost. We weren't playing well with eleven men so the sending off if anything forced us into a more defensive mode and Bournemouth didn't look anything special with the one man advantage.

I think the Arsenal game is all about getting through it without picking up injuries. I'm not confident of getting any points from it.

Then we have to hope recent form counts for nothing in the Semi Final.

What a cheap troll

Apart from Dawsons assault on Speroni, which went unpunished and resulted in a goal. He chose not to speak to Warnock after the game, which he was obliged to do, as he was going to an Ed Sheeran concert

I don't know how you can say this on a Palace board. Trolling is one thing, but this is beyond the pale. Even Clattencunt himself said he cheated in his book
