Bournemouth match thread

Even Willo would find it difficult to defend that ref, although I'm sure he'd give it a good go.

Poor game in conditions where it proved difficult to control the ball with the dry pitch and strong breeze.

I’m sure someone will have more than a quiet word with this sub-standard ref. I wish him well on a human level but he’s a knee-jerk muddled thinker who paints himself into corners and is not right for Premiership games.

Now….

I’m watching the Aston Villa v Newcastle game and preying that Villa get a couple of red cards and a serious injury to at least one of their players.

Morally, should I be thinking like this?

You're a very naughty boy Vince, but I confess I'm thinking along similar lines.

If they get reds don't they only miss games in the same competition i.e. The Prem? I thought they changed the rules this season hence why Hughes could've played at Fulham (if he hadn't been unwell) but missed the two league ganes either side of it.

I’m the same. Maybe 7 or 8 Villa players picking up minor niggles that keep them out for a couple of weeks would be good. I hope Mings keeps fit though. I respect him too much as a player. 😄

Today was a prime example of exactly why referees should have to explain some of the decisions they make. There’s no excuse for that today so it’s either corruption or possibly personal vendetta, worthy of dismissal.

Beyond that, it did feel as though we used today as an exercise to just remember how to defend our goal after conceding five in the last two games.

“Whatever happens here, we don’t want to be injured for Wembley or get ourselves caught up in a game of football”.

I’m not unhappy with the result, I’ll take that versus a very dangerous and dynamic Bournemouth side but f**k me what a waste of time. A nothing of a match ruined by a referee who as a result of all or any logical thinking, should be investigated.

We’ll need to look a very different side at Wembley though. I feel as though we weren’t going to ever score even with XI out there.

I'm not sure that either incident were fouls at all, let alone Yellows.

So Kluivert clearly dives to get Richard’s sent off, then does this which results in a yellow card for Sarr as well. If Willo defends this ref today, any credibility he has left will go out of the window

Barrott is one of the youngest and poorest ‘in the moment’ refs in the league. A complete rush of blood to his head to send off Richards for a minor infraction and totally inconsistent with the Bournemouth player who stayed on.

You can’t teach ref composure unfortunately. He’s a lemon.
He was telling the players Richards had pulled the shirt. Clearly he didn’t so went purely on the disgraceful playacting of Kluivert.

Guehi got booked for putting his hand on, I think Cooks with hardly any pressure for a second, Cook goes down like he has been stabbed. Scott blatantly pushes Sarr over and gets nothing, the ref should be relegated to Sunday League football and never to be seen in the Premier again.
He ruined an already poor game.
