Give it a rest with this 'resale value'. Let's buy a player to play for us and not think about what happens after. All I keep seeing is talking about buying unproven premier league players who are young so that they have resale value. Concentrate on the now occasionally.

West Ham mate says he was shite but he massively improved and it would make sense for him to go where he was playing last season, despite relegation and no European football, it must look from the outside like it’s going to be a bit of a battle for us this season which he might not fancy

We can't afford to buy him outright now as UEFA will treat it as a swap deal and that will wipe out our profit on the Lacroix sale for accounting purposes, so yes, he'll be encouraged to go to Spammers BUT if he digs his heels in and wants to come to us, what then? After all, he's getting on and he'll get European football with us.

There is no guarantee that WH will achieve promotion this coming season, especially with their boardroom struggles, so if he joins them at his age, a lot can happen over a couple of seasons, he may find that future opportunities for him to play in the PL or European competitions may become few & far between.
