Autographs?

Browsing around Amazon yesterday there was a signed souvenir picture from the cup final. Apart from Eze I couldn't make out what any of the names were - just an assortment of squiggles and what look like trademarks.
Must be a bit disappointing for kids to queue up to get something signed and end up with a selection of crossed through X's and O's.

Back in halcyon days when I possessed an autograph book, I used to write the name under those that were a mere squiggle and undecipherable so that as time advanced I could make out the autograph of the person who took the time to add to my collection.
In this modern era it appears that autographs have been replaced by "Selfos" with people beaming akin to game show Dolly Birds.

I’ve got a signed team photo from the team of the 80’s era as a prized possession. My mates grandad was Dave Swindlehurst’s GP and he got them for us.
We worked out all the signatures except one, we didn’t have a clue, especially back then where squads weren’t that big, it really bugged us. Anyway turns out it was Garry Stanley of Chelsea who was training with us with a view to a transfer that never happened

On the way to the 2016 Final I had this great idea of getting the programme (which was available the day before in London) signed by a variety of people that we met across the weekend as a lifelong memory of the occasion. We started by getting off at Finchley Tube Station for something to eat and asked the waiter at the Indian we went into to sign it. I think he thought we were from immigration as he was reluctant to start with, but then agreed to sign with, what I've no doubt, was a false name and signature.

The weekend came and went and my great idea was soon forgotten.

So, I have in my programme collection, the 2016 FA Cup Final programme, signed by an Indian waiter working in Finchley at the time whose autograph it probably wasn't in any case.

Probably worth a small fortune now.
