Ashes cricket

Try Italian, Nepalese or Irish. If you can play a sport, you'll be Irish in no time. You're one of us now, Bruce/ Sheila. Or a US President - then somehow you're also Irish.

The Irish national sport was f***ing everybody they could and spreading their genes all over the globe.

Fun.

But now the rest of the world thinks it has a right to Ireland and Britain.

Nope.

Or 2 poor teams. I thought Sri Lanka would be better but listening to the commentary it sounds like getting out through poor shots rather than anything else.

I often hear this in boxing.....Everyone gets called a bum or hype job unless they are like the top three best in their division or just not the actual champion.

When it comes to twenty twenty we have some of the best batsman in the world. I'd say our bowling attack is average but not poor.

The wicket out there has more movement than most twenty twenty games have...the weather has been difficult prior......The more the wicket does the more likely attacking shots to good balls are going to get out.

Form matters, on the day luck matters as well, because the nature of twenty overs is higher risk than the longer formats. Australia have just been knocked out which shows just if the luck runs a little against you in a couple of games then you're out......but they are probably a little better than us overall.

All other things being considered I'd put us between the 3rd and 5th best 20/20 side in the world.....a good chance of making the semis and an outside chance of winning it......India are the best side.

If we don't win I want the West Indies to win it.

I would have agreed with your summary. That England have good batting and average bowling - however, it's largely been the bowlers that have saved England embarrassment. They've defended a couple of pretty poor totals now. As I said, I would have rated the batsmen better. Perhaps we shouldn't be too harsh on the bowlers. Watching the Sri Lankan wickets now, one just hits his own bails. That is awful frankly. I'd suggest match fixing but who am I to say.

That would be spicy.

Let's hope it's true and there's a big fuss.
