Another terror attack

Would those be the figures given by Khan and his cohorts? The ones the denied there were grooming gangs in London?

Trust in our institutions to be honest is significantly damaged and for valid reasons.

The people with jobs where performance figures impact upon the perception of said performance, record the figures upon which they are judged. Faith in these people has been holed below the waterline in recent decades.

You can’t know the reasons - you can theorise and speculate, but that doesn’t make it true.

You can gaslight for the institutions as well.

I worked in the institutions, I know how the pie is made.

But obviously you think the pies are all made with complete honesty.

Sigh.

He’s literally stated shoplifting as the example of something people wouldn’t bother reporting, and yet reports of shoplifting are hugely up.

That clearly doesn’t stack up.

Shoplifting is one form of stolen goods.

Obviously you think stolen property rates are strictly just being kept to shops.

I've already stated why figures change.....Also, people are far more aware now of the dangers now as it's neither happened to them or to others they know, far fewer are walking around with valuables on display than in the past.....but in your head it's because you think it's safe.

No, I don’t - I just don’t think you are the authority who gets to decide why certain trends exist, because you obviously can’t know. This isn’t controversial.

I can speculate that personal theft is way up because everyone now carries a smart phone, as well as a huge increase in the prevalence of tablets and laptops compared with 30 years ago - it’s probably true that would contribute and it seems a logical assumption, but guess what? I can’t prove it and I don’t know if it’s true.

It would be a theory, exactly like yours.

That you think you’re qualified to tell anyone why figures change is just hilarious.

You have a theory. You do not know if it’s true.

Leftists coming on here telling other people how safe London is and giving them advice.....based upon dubious figures that they believe are all put together with pure intent .

Telling me that I shouldn't present myself as an 'authority'.

Errrr....talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

I was just responding to your naivety mate.

But are there London based grooming gangs? Mayor Khan doesn’t think so

'He’s literally stated shoplifting as the example of something people wouldn’t bother reporting, and yet reports of shoplifting are hugely up.'

No I didn't, you just didn't comprehend what I was saying.

Shopkeepers are more likely to report stolen goods.....they often have security features like cameras for example.....having evidence helps....obviously.

Many people in the street just don't think it's worth it.

For example the recent example on social meida of a drunken white lad being attacked and thrown to the floor by three black lads wouldn't likely have been reported unless the Police were there (and amusingly they arrested him instead of those violent to him).......If he had a tenner nicked off of him (he didn't) he also wouldn't' likely have bothered to report it because he knows the likelihood of redress is very low.

But fewer people putting themselves into these situations obviously lowers these figures as well....as I previously stated. It doesn't mean it's 'safer'.

You shouldn’t - you’ve spent too long on an echo chamber and have a quite bizarrely inflated sense of authority to claim things as fact. It’s a recurring theme of your posts.

I’m presenting data. Sure, that data is open to scrutiny, but you are presenting theory as fact. It’s not remotely the same thing.

Note the use of the word ‘He’ (ie. Spider), not you. So who didn’t comprehend?

By the way, reports of personal theft are also up… 🤣

You guys are so busy frothing and denying you don’t even read.

What you are presenting is chop suey and claiming it's steak.

You can do that if you wish to....but those with eyes are going to tell you different.

You aren't required to like it.

An 'inflated sense of authority'? Again, I wasn't the one giving others advice on safety in London based upon an interpretation of figures many find dubious.

I've simply responded to your certainty by pointing out the reasons why it rests on uneven ground.

As ever some wonderful bluster but data and theory will never be the same thing.

Yes, a hugely inflated sense of authority to present your half-cooked theories as fact, regularly.

Honestly my post to spider was well-intentioned - I think it’s sad to think someone would miss out on experiences like that with a grandchild. Millions and millions of people visit London every year without incident. That you’ve tried to spin it into a negative speaks volumes.

I don't think I nor you need to give advice to Spider on how safe London actually is in reality.

Now that would be arrogance.

The actual chances of one individual visit in London going wrong have always been low...as in many western cities, how low depends upon the context. There has been no fear mongering here. I saw what you stated and I thought it worthy of comment.

If you want to believe in Khan's safe London, that's for you.
