We are now in the suspect’s 6th day in custody. In many murder cases the charge is laid within 48 hours of arrest.
I don’t buy this ‘ radicalised by communist literature’. I’m educated to degree level ( I accept polytechnic in the 1980’s) but the thought of ploughing through Karl Marx or similar puts me to sleep.
Plus I don’t get the connection between the downfall of capitalism and an old lady with very socially conservative views.
Something isn’t right in all this.

Come on, anyone who studied politics at university will have studied ‘communist literature’ and have them up in the loft. David Cameron, Edwina Currie, Ed Balls and no doubt half of parliament. kier Starmer studied law and Andy Burnham English!
I find the suggestion that someone has been radicalised to murder Ann Widdecombe by reading such literature to be ridiculous.
Those radicalised to commit political murders are few and far between and really are on the extremes of right and left as the deaths of Cox and Amiss demonstrate.
There is a load going on behind the scenes on this one and I wouldn’t be supposed if the story changes soon

Meanwhile, I have a feeling the matter switched to "terrorist" as this gives the old bill a lot longer to get their evidential ducks in a row in a matter with enormous political cache. My guess: as soon as he is charged, they will drop the terrorist label and lock him up as the paranoid schizophrenic nutter he is.

you are probably correct. What really gets me is when a murder is done by Whacker McSavage....he goes to jail. When its by a President/Prime Minister they get a tune & a medal at the Cenotaph.
