Ann Widdecombe

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks the police arrested a "26 year old white male" straight away to take the sting out of the initial anger of the news she was murdered broke.

(Pure speculation on my part btw)

From what we know so far it seems to have happened on Wednesday as she missed online events she was expected to participate in.

we all know some elderlies who live on their own and are vulnerable. There is often a constant stream of wierdos calling to the door selling stuff or otherwise causing a nuisance.

I got aggressive with these t0ssers on more than one occasion. Favourite was the bloke telling my relative that their electricity tariff was wrong and she needed to switch to his provider. I offered him some free martial arts training with my hurley stick.

Ann Widdicombe is but a canary in the mine for our society. We all know an Ann Widdicombe.

Serious question. If they don’t know who did it and they don’t know a motive ( from what we are being told) how can anything have been ruled out?
IMO it won’t be terrorism. Would a bungled burglary end in such a violent way?

It's possible that if the intruder panicked after being interrupted he (or she) might have battered the poor woman even if not necessarily to kill her.

monsters often target the solitary vulnerable. Whenever they are casing-out a joint ( pretending to sell something) they will often slip in a question about whether the resident lives on their own. Make sure to photograph them and their vehicle if it is also present. They hate it when you do that.

I agree, they shouldn't be ruling anything out or ruling it in until they actually know.

We’ve all won a tenner on the lottery mate 😘
I haven’t. Not for a very long time anyway. I won £100 on the football pools 65 years ago when that was around 25% of my annual earnings!

This though was a £30,000 investment that has paid off. As expected, as it was an opportunity rather than a gamble. Can’t cash in though until later as it involves property improvement.

Tatchell ( horrible individual imo) and Socialist Worker should hang their heads in shame. Where is the condemnation from Starmer and Burnham?

Yep, it doesn't work both ways with these people......You get asked to condemn but you note that they are hypocrites.

Either that or a burglary which went wrong - maybe she surprised the bloke who panicked and lashed out. Based on how quickly he was arrested he probably lived locally and was reported by someone who knew him.
It was my guess that he had done, or was doing work, for her. Most likely gardening. It looks like a big plot so at her age she probably needed help. If it was known locally, or especially if they had fallen out, they would be an obvious person of interest.

Now we know he has been ruled out.

It doesn’t need to be substantiated to anyone who matters. I know it’s true. That’s enough. What you, or anyone else here, wants to believe is totally irrelevant to me.

Yeah we notice it in your desperate pleas for support on here and DMs you have had with people that have come to light.

It's so obvious that it does matter to you.

Nah, she was a conviction politician. One I fundamentally disagreed with but she stuck to her beliefs throughout her entire life and career. I have nothing but respect for people like that, even if I find some of them unpalatable.

Given what has happened to her in her final hours anyone finding even a slight bit of joy in her demise needs their head checking.
There’s no joy whatsoever in her demise.

However, nor can someone’s personality be whitewashed by their passing, no matter how tragic or unpleasant it might be.

As I remember her I will do so honestly. Thatcher and Powell were people whose politics I strongly disagree with, but always respected. They were both political giants of my time. Benn less so. Widdecombe was a Pygmy by comparison. I am sure she would have been fun to be around, and was kind to others but her politics never caused me to have to reflect for long.

Anything that is obvious to you has no authenticity in the real world.

I don’t need support from anyone. If you haven’t realised it by now I have always been capable of fighting my own corner. Not with the fists and “shoes” that the pseudo macho here like to glorify, but with arguments. I will be 82 in 2 weeks time but I have no expectation or intention of stopping. Just the occasional break when the attitudes here need to be set aside for a while to allow sanity to recover.
