Alkmaar prediction

They are in good form, they won away at 5th plced Sparta Rotterdam this weekend, not going to be easy which may suit us, no Larnacaesque complacency

Alkmaar are third in the Eredivisie (Dutch First Division) up there with the likes of Feyenoord & Eindhoven. They've also been league Champions a couple of times, so they've a decent history of competitiveness. Not to be under-estimated, in very good form this season so they must be well-drilled.
Could be a tough game, but I'm going for a narrow win, 2-1 Palace.

Need a win really after the Larnaca mess.
Need to go into the last game v Kuns or whatever they are called already qualified so can field a weakened team with the fixture pile up.

1 0 win on Thursday night. COYP

Difficult couple of weeks.

This game should be a narrow win, but we have Brighton on Sunday, so which game do we prioritise?

Sense says this one, but we will not want a bad performance v our alleged rivals.

I am thinking the same. I think we have really underestimated the teams in the conference league this season.

When west ham won it they at least had a whole season the year before in Europe to get used to playing those teams.
I don’t think we underestimated Kiev. We played a strong team and were excellent. Against AEK we had plenty of chances to score and made a mistake which can happen.

I think we will win 2-0 as AZ are more likely be more of a front foot team given strong in Holland which plays to our strengths. Shelbourne and Kip’s are more likely to be our biggest challenges with ten or eleven behind the ball and low block

I was a big fan of Kimberley Kups but not so much Kimberley Kips for some reason.

AZ are currently 3rd in the Eredivisie, Strasbourg 7th in Ligue 1 but only three points off second, Kups have won the Finnish League and Shelbourne have come third in the Irish Premier Division. Dynamo Kyiv are second. The Conference was supposed to be a European jaunt for the also rans from the. weakest countries in Europe but we have ended up with the best of the rest. Strasbourg should have been in the Champions League but for two dodgy results caused by their Chelsea loanees and AZ will be no pushovers. I think a draw 1-1 with no injuries would be a good result.

Teams that have a go at us suit our style so much better. I'm a huge Glasner fan but if there is one area I'd like to see him find solutions its against low block teams that park the bus.
I'm hoping AZ Alkmaar will be a bit more ambitious than to sit back and look to hit us on the counter although I still expect them to be cautious. They will be well aware or what Sarr, Pino and JPM are capable of.
I'm going for a hard fought 1 0 win and I'd take that right now.

I was overly confident for Larnaca, as a lot of us were, and feel like I tempted fate.

Not going to give a score prediction for AZ, I will say that this game should lend itself to a better performance based purely on styles of play… it suits us a bit more. We’ll see if that’s the case 👀

Benitez and Canvot will probably start, other than that I’m guessing full-strength squad for this tie.

We should be spanking everyone in this competition.
Fa cup holders, charity shield winners, warm Carlsberg, Englands no2 keeper, a center back that gets in any team in world football, a dick head with a loud hailer, a right back that was in the premier team of the year, a dickhead with a drum, a Spanish international at number 10, fireworks , center forward (22 goals in 28 games at Selhurst), toilets where the floor is covered in piss, the ‘Blackburn Pirlo’ in midfield.

A comfortable win.
