Adam Wharton

Yep, it’s enraging. It’s a constant fear. As soon as we look good the vultures start hovering.
Wharton is a young man thats contracted to Palace till the summer of 2029 . Which basically means we have him for another 2 seasons before we have to start thinking of extending the contract or looking at offers . I think it will take some fee , cash not on the never never , to prise him away this summer .

Think he would be very happy to return to Portugal. The whole saga has been a complete disaster
I just can't understand why managers keep taking the role, it's clearly a deeper lying issue than simply coaching and even The Finger (or Louis Van Gaal) warned Ten Haag of this publicly - eventually being proved right.

Absolute definition of the poisoned chalice, and a certain Ed Woodward was instrumental to their downfall.

I guess it is a bit of ego. A manager thinks ‘I can be the one to turn it around’ and show how good a manager they are. Absolute basket case of a club though.

The salary is eye watering and life changing.

After it, you write your book and then work part time as a TV pundit in your home country in between skiing in St Moritz, shopping trips and lazy days fishing on the lake.

He was outstanding. Looked extraordinarily composed, especially considering it was his first start after surgery.

We have a real star in our midst.

Why would Wharton want to drop down a level to Man Utd?

The club is going nowhere. We have more chance of Europe than they do next season and we'll finish above them this season.

Wharton is £80m right now. If he can add goals to his game, he'll be £100m

ManUre are the new PSG.....a ton of money, expensive players and not good enough to win any prestigious silverware. MBappe left PSG for ambition for silverware. ManUre will not hold onto the best players anymore. Harry Maguire can stay there forever.

my fear is Wharton going to any other big club for big money. Man City need to replace Kevin De Bruyne. And loads of other big clubs would buy Wharton off us tomorrow. 100 million quid and i would be happy. I still believe we sold Olise too cheap.

Olise’s departure and financial conditions were basically set a year prior to allow us to keep him out of Chelsea’s hands and have him for longer.

The values were broadly set by Michael’s team and at the time represented good value for both player and club.

His contribution and performances after his injury lay off were nothing short of spectacular making it likely a CL club would enter the equation.

All around I think the discussions and outcomes were amicable and clearly Michael has adapted to life in Europe with the same laidback attitude he showed for us.
