I don't understand the recruitment strategy and obsession with buying attacking midfielders this summer.

With Kamada playing in the #10 role we have 8 (!) players competing for 2 positions:
Kamada
Pino
Nketiah
Sarr
Osorio
Gozo
McNeil
Guessand

And Sarr, Osorio, Guessand and Gozo combined have barely played a minute all season.

Meanwhile, 2 of our 3 starting CB's are loanee's.

Dreadful recruitment and it's showing. We would have been better selling Sarr and reinvesting in a proper CB.

Yes the transfer window was poor. We didn’t address the defense. We signed a lot of number tens we didn’t need including one who failed to impress on loan last season. We shipped out a proven right wing back and squad leader to replace him with a young player who hasn’t looked up to it. Most baffling of all we didn’t bring in a single player who improves the starting eleven.

Most baffling for me was why we sold lacroix, he still had plenty of time left on his contract and it was hardly too good a bid to turn down. We should have said to him, sorry but you can have your big move next year.

Probably because we needed to raise significant funds to satisfy UEFA's SCRs. There's a price of being in Europe.

What and then use that money on 2 no 10s who won't get anywhere near the first team and another on loan who didn't even make the Europa squad ?

I said it on another thread, not sure who is in charge of recruitment at Brighton, but they seem to be doing one hell of a great job!

Their new signings bring an added dimension to their squad. Our new signings bring ????????
