Not sir but Alan Mullary MBEIs he the first person to be Knighted connected to the club?
That New Year's Honours List:
Services to Insomnia - Sir Gareth Southgate.
Fans across the country have lauded his ability "It's the best sleep I've had in years".
Services to Knife Crime - Sir Sadiq Khan.
"That Sadiq had been great we've never ad it so good" Gang Member.
Services to the Food Industry - Dame Emily Thornberry
A spokesman said "If it wasn't for Emily I'm not sure our business would have made it through the winter".
Services to Mediocre
Too many to mention but apparently turning up to work* as a Civil Servant is one of the requirements.
*Or WFH
etc. etc.
Let’s not forget Sir Steve Coppell!
Surprisingly he has never been in the other list, not even an MBE. I was convinced he was one.
Roy Hodgson was knighted in Finland. Probably makes it easier to book a table in Helsinki restaurants. Is he the first person to be Knighted connected to the club?
For services to eyebrows? Our well known supporter, the late Sir Bernard Ingham, was knighted in 1990.
Bobby Robson was touched with the butter knife within moments of return from dragging England to one semi final. Southgate took us to 2 major finals and reinvigorated the England team to our best winrate since Ramsay (a very different world). You can't give one and not the other. For services to football, Roy Hodgson is far more deserving of the accolade. As much as Southgate did reasonably well with England, to bestow this honour upon him this soon after retiring as England manager seems wrong to me.
As for Sadiq Khan, i'd be tempted to cut his head off with the sword.
😀 😀For services to eyebrows?
Loads of gongs are always bestowed on lollipop ladies and tireless life long volunteers for charities and the like. They aren't all people you don't like. This is also how I feel about it.
The New Year Honours are a Humiliation Ritual
Loads of gongs are always bestowed on lollipop ladies and tireless life long volunteers for charities and the like. They aren't all people you don't like.
If you ignore his vociferous support for the demonisation by the police and Murdoch press of the victims of Hillsborough, something he continued to argue and refused to recant even after the Panel's damning verdict against the police in 2012.😀 😀
Bright-eyed and bushy eyebrowed.
A jolly nice gentleman and a pillar of rectitude.
RIP.
The most shameful honours list ever.
Thornbury and Kahn got a title as a consolation prize. They are both despicable.
Southgate is just another example of rewarding failure. We are good at that in this country.
He took a side that should have won two tournaments and screwed it up.
