60 m 2-3 players. Who do you get and why

Harvey Elliot and Ivan Toney. Two players who can make an impact in the first team and increase competition in key areas. Never gonna happen I know, and maybe Toney won't want to drop down to mere old south london wages, but a player like Elliot (who not long ago was tearing it up for Eng U21s) possibly more likely, along with someone like Sterling. Sterling is more of a Palace type of move - we love a once-upon-a-time has-been.

Elliot can only play for either Villa or Liverpool for the rest of this season so won't be available for us till the Summer.

I doubt Toney fits our club culture etc. He'd likely be a pain in the dressing room. I wouldn't touch him with the proverbial. If Glasner stays I couldn't see Toney towing the Glasner line.

Whist nobody wants to lose our best players we have to be proactive in dealing with the situation.

JPM is a perfect example, 28yo, c.£40 valuation 18 months left on his contract. If he wont sign an extension we either:

Sell him this summer for £30-40m

Sell him in the winter window for peanuts

Lose him for nothing in summer '27

We clearly have to sell him. And we need to hope that there is someone out there with some decent cash.
I agree with your points re Mateta, but if he and Guehi go, then we need to keep Wharton, and probably Munoz (again age is a consideration), and replacements need to be strong more than speculative.

Dont really see anyone out there that fits the Palace profile nor anyone that does that would be within our budget .
£60M will maybe buy one player that would get in our team
There are areas we can improve and add depth in. We also have to suspect departures in the summer. Which means if someone's available in January at a decent price we might do some business. I'm relatively sure we'll get maybe two. I'm expecting maybe Boey and someone with the ability to play across a front three. Like when we were after Guessand. We might also try for Willock but I expect the Summer for that is more likely. Currently, we can cover the central midfield and left back. Centre back is ok as long as we don't sell Guehi. I expect Mateta to renew or to be sold in the summer.

Id like us to go for Oscar bobb from city, had a long term injury and I can't see him getting many minutes at city anytime soon, there's a decent player in there, with the world cup coming up, he will need minutes and have plenty to prove, I think a loan deal would work well for all parties.

Toney is one in trouble with the law apparently. Also due to tax reasons I don’t believe he can return to uk until the summer at earliest. With Elliott not sure if he can move as already played for 2 pl teams this season

He can't.

Very good shout, ticks all the boxes, left footed, keen, not playing, low wages 👍, and i like the name Bobb, sounds like someone from Blackadder.

If Glasner won’t commit to stay then January will probably be loans only. If Liverpool get desperate ( and they must be) they could come in with a decent offer for Guehi. If we get £35-40 million I’d be tempted to take it , add the £15million we didn’t spend from Eze’s transfer and go for Kees Smit. Canvot is just about ready to slot into the back 3 and surprisingly looked comfortable on the left with Mitchell for support. Riad is hopefully getting closer and might get some game time before the summer.

Sounds good to me, but I think Glasner would do his nut (again) if we sold Guehi and didn't get in an experienced replacement. Based on the summer, I expect Liverpool to wait until there are about 7 minutes left in the window before offering us £12-15m, leaving all concerned in an impossible position.

The club has spent about £35m (ish) on Riad and Canvot, both play in Guehi's position and, given their ages, both would increase in value if they do well.

Of course, we have no idea if Riad is any good, or what these injuries have done to him, and Canvot is raw. Even so, if I were Parish I would be telling Glasner that I'm not signing a new left-sided centre back in the summer unless you sign a new deal. Any new manager might not want to play a back three, and we can't justify £30m (and maybe more) on a player for that position when the position might not exist soon, and when we've spent so much already on Riad and Canvot.

Which has already been spent on other commitments per Parish. Also. now we're in Europe we have to abide by their spending rules which are tougher than those of the PL. It's not as simple as "we sold players for X amount and bought players for Y amount and have x-y left over for other purchases."
