Fulham game

How do think we should approach the Fulham game tactically?

Watching them last night they are like a poor man's Man City, dominating possession, controlling midfield with lots of one touch passing and triangular movements.
They also have a talented bench to freshen the team or offer different options.

Brentford tried to defend for the vast majority of the game, with 9 players behind the ball and the occasional breakaway, but eventually the pressure told.
Glasner doesn't play this way so it's unlikely that we will follow suit.
However, to press high leaves us very exposed if their talented midfield bypass us.
We have to be able to compete in midfield, win the tackles there or pressurise them so they can't find their rhythm.
How can we achieve this with all our absences in midfield?
I have to confess I can't see an answer.

Fulham were at home yesterday, lets hope they are more conservative playing away on Saturday

True, but it's going to have to be Chalobah surely. Then Clyne in the back three. There's been no sign at all of Glasner using Ward. I presume Doucoure can just about play.
Agree - hopefully we can get 60 minutes out of Doucoure and he is up to the pace of the Prem - he's looked very rusty thus far (understandably).

Please no Kamada as one of the two in the centre.

I know we won't do it but i'd be happy if we match them with a 4231 formation.

Ward is injured according to the latest EPL Injury Table i've just looked at, says we have 9 players out. Good news is both Ward & Richards should/could be available for Sat v Fulham. Guess we'll find out one way or another Fri afternoon in OG's presser.

It's all about how well we press from the top - Take strain of the struggling midfield. From this perspective, I would prefer Kamada to play in Eze's vacant spot. OG seems to think he has midfielder capabilities, so he can help with the High Press whilst also adding numbers in midfield.

We don't particularly keep clean sheets either, so we'll have to score more than them too, but one That winning the ball back high up the pitch should help with.

I also remember Guihe playing in midfield towards the end of last season under Glasner. Could also be another option?

If fit, it will Doucoure and Kamada in midfield. Richard’s on the bench could be an option when Doucoure tires.

I see the line up being this:

Hendo
Challa, ML, MG
Munoz Kamada, Doucoure, mitchell
Sarr, Eddie,
JPM,

Same as previous game except CD for Hughes.

I would be over the moon if we can get a point against a decent Fulham side with all our missing players. Then into a welcome (for once) international break and hopefully a few back in the fold when the premier league resumes.

And absolutely hoping the Anderson doesn’t come back to haunt us Saturday as all old players seem to do.

Brentford went for it after the Fulham equaliser and were denied by an excellent save.

Up to the other end and Wilson's winner.

Should have defended, respected the point?

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
